The requirement is to manage the cleaning services of the 80 bedrooms in the Guest Rooms block 7 days a week, all year round. They only shut during the Easter and Christmas period when the University closes. We expect the successful supplier to be able to clean the guest rooms 7 days a week over the year, and plan for the times of the year when the Guest Rooms are at full occupancy (June-September). Plus, over the vacation periods, support with the cleaning of any student blocks that are sold externally to visitors.
Cleaning services includes
• Full room clean upon departure
• Room refresh during stay
• Cleaning of communal areas such foyer areas and corridors
• Shared kitchens
• Deep cleaning
Service engineers will be required to provide weekly Service and Maintenance attendance to carry out works to the Swimming Pool Filtration Equipment, Pumps, and Electrical Control Panel, Chemical Disinfection Systems including Chemical Dosing and UV Sterilisation Equipment. This would involve twice weekly site attendance checks (8 per month) and reactive callouts when required. The supply and stock management of CO2 gases and all chemicals' treatments would also be required.
The swimming pool is 25m long x 17.5m wide x 2m deep, providing a bathing area of 438m2 and a total water volume of 875m3 for maximum bather loads. The pool is open 16 hours per day, 7 days per week.
The University is inviting tenders on the terms set out within the procurement documents for the supply, delivery and installation of a mobile platform for tracking carbon through agri-ecosystems ("the platform"). The platform will comprise real-time isotopic analysers (x2) for determination of CO2 and CH4 concentrations and d13C, automated chambers (x32: 16 opaque and 16 transparent) that can operate over vegetation with a height of 70cm, a free-standing low-energy power supply, and environmental (moisture, temperature and light) sensors, all controlled by multiplexors connected to PCs. The platform will be installed in a mobile greenhouse gas laboratory (Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 van) operated by the Lancaster Environment Centre, and will be used to support academic research and student training in outdoor environments. The equipment is expected to be installed by the 30th of April 2026.
This framework will cover Painting and Decorating services across our large campus.
This will include:
• External painting, including, potentially: masonry, rendered panels, steelwork. This is very likely to involve the requirement to work at height.
• Internal small/low value maintenance type repair works in live buildings (both academic and residential).
Lift Replacement & Associated Works for Furness College, Tower Avenue, Bailrigg, Lancaster, LA1 4YW. The project involves the complete replacement of the passenger lift. The existing lift shall be replaced in its entirety with a new traction MRL (Machine Room-Less) installation, including all associated building and electrical works. Further details as per the Specification.
SITE VISIT: The University will host a mandatory accompanied site visit. Site visits shall be arranged by appointment through the designated contact, John Stead (email: j.stead1@lancaster.ac.uk, tel: 7977190451). Tentative dates for site visits are 11th and 16th December; however, alternative dates may be accommodated upon request where the proposed dates are not suitable to the contractor.

The University, Lancaster University, Bailrigg, LA1 4YW, is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this Invitation to Tender (ITT) to establish a multi-lot Framework agreement for an on-going requirement for Window Cleaning to Academic and Student Residential buildings (both internally & externally). The cleaning is to include windowsills & wiping of frames, glass canopies and main entrances, all internal glass including glass office partitions; glass balustrades and all glass in atrium areas including lifts on campus and at Health Innovation One (HIO); and Chancellor's Wharf, Lancaster City centre.
Normally window cleaning takes place:
• Externally once a year
• Internally once a year
Window cleaning is generally scheduled between March and September each year with occasional requests during the remainder of the year for VIP events. Some of the Student Residence buildings are required for Conference/Summer School accommodation after the students have vacated them so please be aware that approximately 20% of the Residences included in Lot 2 have to be cleaned/turnaround in anything from a 2 to 7-day timeframe
Lancaster University aims to establish a Framework consisting of two Lots with up to three or four suppliers on each Lot.
Lancaster University requires the services of a competent Supplier to undertake the service, maintenance and call-out to all intruder alarm, access control, vehicle barriers and CCTV systems identified by the Purchaser. This is currently, but not limited to, 110 security equipment installations, the vast majority of which are on the Lancaster University campus.
Lancaster University is inviting tenders for the provision of Simulated Patient Actors to support teaching, training and assessment activities within Lancaster Medical School.
The successful supplier will provide trained actors to participate in simulated clinical scenarios used in medical education, including teaching sessions and formal student assessments such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations. Actors will be required to portray patients in a range of clinical situations and follow structured case briefs provided by the University.
The contract will support the delivery of high-quality clinical simulation to enhance student learning and assessment within the Medical School.
