Description Parliament maintains a variety of contingency options . These options provide flexibility to respond to a range of scenarios. The plans identify venues where Parliament could be re-located to ensure that the business of Parliament can be carried out without interruption and with minimum disturbance. All current or future options may apply to this Contract, although the Client reserves the right to ask for the build/rehearsal elements of the plan as part of other contingency planning projects where appropriate (within the overall value of this contract). The ability to deliver these options must be maintained 24/7 x 365 with the ability to activate each with minimal notice, with successful delivery occurring within the specified timeframe of the relevant option and to the relevant standard and quality. Scope The contractor will be expected to carry out the build in any venue as required across the UK. The Client will be responsible for the hire of the venue prior to an activation or planned rehearsal of the build. The contactor must acknowledge that the plans may not be activated for real during the life of this contact. The Print Procurement section is part of the Vote Office. It serves departments and Offices across the House of Lords, House of Commons and, on occasions, Parliamentary Associations. The function is to supply printed items requested by customers for the performance of their Parliamentary duties and promotion of public events. Printed and promotional items are outsourced to external printers on the framework where Print Services (the in-house digital production unit) cannot produce the requirements due to quantities required, time scales, specialist printing or finishing, such as embossing, foil blocking, die-stamping and thermography. The appointed Consultant will support the Parliamentary Design Authority in its role as custodian of the lift engineering infrastructure on the Parliamentary Estate to review and update technical standards and a long-term strategy for lift modernisation.
