Transport for Wales (TfW) is seeking engagement with the bus refurbishment market to understand the opportunities available in this market, and to further drive the development of a specification. Please refer to attached summary information.

TfWRL has an upcoming opportunity for the replacement, support, and maintenance of train station ticket barriers and platform validators across Wales and support the expansion of the TfW Metro and PAYG initiatives. The purpose of this PIN notice is to alert the market to the upcoming opportunity and ensure that interested suppliers look out for the notice once published, and if interested can start to prepare and plan resources to support a bid.

1.1 Transport for Wales has possession and control of space at both its stations and on land adjacent to tracks, roads, bridges, railway stations and on-train which is or may in due course be available as out of home (OOH) advertising space. Transport for Wales is seeking to establish an exclusive Concession Agreement with a suitable media owner or similar organisation to manage, promote and exploit its transport advertising space. The Seller (Concessionaire) will provide Transport advertising to cover the following areas; Out of Home (OOH) on Station, Roadside and Rail Bridges Land and Buildings In Carriage (On Board) Interchanges

TfW operate a diverse estate of 248 stations and ancillary properties across Wales and the border regions. These stations are the gateway to our network and invariably the heartbeat of the local communities which they serve. The next iteration of our Facilities Management (FM) arrangements will commence in early 2023 and need to reflect the importance of these facilities as well as current and future customer aspirations.

The Canton Depot needs a new wheel lathe to replace the life-expired one. The project involves detailed design and installation work, including civil, structural, and M&E upgrades. The contractor will act as Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, coordinating all aspects from design to construction.

Transport for Wales Rail Limited (the Contracting Authority) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to supply, install, provide ongoing maintenance and support of a self-service Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) solution across its rail network of Wales and border stations. The scope of the requirement includes securing a solution accredited by the Rail Delivery Group (RDG). The solution must be modern, accessible, reliable and user-friendly to ensure successful passenger use. A full and sustainable service approach is required from installation to decommissioning of equipment. The scope will also include the requirement for a Carbon Reduction Plan. The removal and sustainable disposal of the existing TVM estate may also be a requirement. TfW are seeking a supplier with innovative solutions and equipment which may be multi-functional e.g. capable of digital media advertising to enable TfW to maximise its return on investment. During the term of the agreement, integration with multimodal transport ticketing services may be required. As part of on-going contract management requirements, the supplier would be required to provide insight into best practice within the rail and wider transport retail ticketing environment, future innovations and to help inform the procurement strategy and appropriate routes to market.

Procurement of OH2 (Overhaul 2) VMI (Vehicle Maintenance Instructions) Work, corrosion repair, painting and associated movements, Bogie Overhaul, into 2 lots. Transport for Wales (TfW) is seeking to appoint a Supplier to provide a comprehensive Taxi Aggregator platform to support the booking, management, and monitoring of all TfW taxi requirements. The platform must ensure reliable, on time services and meet TfW’s operational and quality standards. The successful Supplier will be responsible for delivering:• An easy to use online booking portal/app with real time tracking and reporting capabilities• A wide and resilient supplier network able to service the entire TfW network area and cross border requirements• A 24/7/365 call centre• Access to a range of vehicle types, including (but not limited to) WAVEX taxis• A robust complaints handling process to fully investigate and resolve issues raised• A dedicated account manager as the primary point of contact for TfW

Transport for Wales Rail (TfWRL) are in-housing the co-ordination and management of the Rail Replacement Service (RRS) across Wales and Border routes operated by TfWRL within Wales and between Wales and England. Or any such route operated by TfW as may arise in future This means that all pre-planned and emergency rail replacement services currently provided by coach and bus operators will be contracted directly by TfWRL. TfW are currently considering procuring a multi-lot Open Framework to support service provision across Wales. The indictive time plan is as follows and may change at the Authority's discretion.
