Thornbury Town Council is seeking an expert conservation contractor to carry out conservation and repair works to 50+ monuments (and walls) in the closed churchyard of St Marys Church in Thornbury. The works are fully detailed in a recent conservation report (see supporting document) and include safe removal of mature and invasive ivy from monuments, removal of other vegetation, repointing, repair of sections of stone, resetting of stone, insertion of new stone, etc. The contractor will be required to apply for relevant planning permissions from the local authority on behalf of the Town Council and assist the Town Council with obtaining a Faculty from the local Diocese.

This project involves the safe deconstruction and removal of an existing single-apex 6m x 15m Marley Building, ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, the contractor is invited to submit a detailed design and proposal for a new agricultural machine store, compliant with BS5502 Class II (EN 1090) and UKCA marking requirements.
The key objectives are:
Minimise costs by identifying a recipient for the deconstructed materials.
Design and construct a replacement store meeting specified dimensions and structural standards.
Ensure all works comply with UK health and safety regulations.
The project will proceed in two stages:

The objective is to provide an exciting new space that offers young people a facility to play a number of sports in all weathers and which includes integrated lighting which allows users to continue to enjoy the facility well into the evening, all year round. The new facility should fit well into its green and natural setting and be fully accessible and welcoming to all potential users.
