Thetford Town Council (TTC) is looking for a tendered price to formalise the natural breach in the true left bank of the River Thet at Ford Meadow local to Nun's Bridge, Thetford. The natural breach has created a by-pass channel that can function to improve fish passage and transfer between the River Little Ouse and downstream River Thet to upstream River Thet. The proposal is to create a barrage across the breach and install a notch to allow flow from the Thet into the channel. Plans have been designed by Fishtek and specified by the Environment Agency. The tender price must cost the plans as designed by Fishtek. The tender submission must also cost a variation with no notch installed (complete barrier). Project Description: The Thetford Heritage Masterplan will be a comprehensive strategic plan and delivery model across Thetford's numerous heritage assets that addresses people's needs, conservation needs and organisational and financial needs. Placemaking is not just for urban city centres - there is an absolute need for joined up, heritage-led regenerative thinking for towns and villages across the country, with an opportunity for Thetford to become a real showcase for others. This brief covers both the development of the Thetford Heritage Masterplan, as well as the development of any further projects resulting from the Thetford Heritage Masterplan that are determined during its delivery, subject to budget agreement with the Thetford Town Council. Heritage Masterplan - Bid Writer Thetford Town Council Up to £20,000 (incl expenses and VAT if applicable) Contract Start Date: Dec 24/Jan 25 Thetford Town Council (TTC) is a Town Council on the edge of Norfolk with ambitious plans to utilise and improve its heritage within Thetford. In November 2022 TTC received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) to undertake a study of possible heritage projects in Thetford. This piece of work was completed in Feb 24 and identified possible projects for inclusion in a formal bid for funding from NLHF. Following on from this work, the Council has decided to focus the next stage of its development of a Heritage Masterpan on St Peters Church, Kings House (owned by the G.W. Staniforth Charity. We are looking for a consultant with significant demonstrable experience in securing NLHF delivery funding and match funding for major projects. You will have a sound understanding of the NLHF investment principles and application process for projects over £1m, experience of working with a wide range of partners and funders and have the capacity and flexibility to commence the assignment in January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to develop an NLHF bid for an innovative heritage project to engage local, regional, and national audiences with a Heritage Masterplan for Thetford. The plan focuses on several important heritage sites including TTC which is looking to award a contract for an appropriately experienced Bid Writer for its NLHF grant application. This grant is for a significant Heritage project linked to properties owned by TTC as well as those owned by third parties, together with match funding applications as required for the project's delivery costs. Thetford Foot Bridge Pre Tender Information Thetford Town Council Thetford Town Council office, The Carnegie, Cage Lane, Thetford IP24 2DS 24.02.2026 Project Nuns Bridge Thetford Thetford Town Council are intending to install a new footbridge over a small tributary leading to the River Thet. The location plan is attached with the documents. The current bridge is a small historic stone constructed bridge that takes traffic in and out of the town, traffic volume has increased over the last few years due to increased development within the town. From a safety prospectus another access needs to be created for pedestrians. The Council are looking for a suitably experienced contractor to take on the role of design and installation of a new footbridge delivered under CDM regulations. The contractor will have the relevant experience of this process from design to installation in past projects and will give two examples of previous projects. This tender pack has several pre-prepared documents that must be read as part of your application. It should be noted all suitably qualified companies must have had a site visit to be familiar with the site.
