THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR PLACES OF HISTORIC INTEREST OR NATURAL BEAUTY
Under the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) Environment Fund Strategic Strand, we are seeking to continue and enhance our ammonia monitoring programme within Northern Ireland.
Since 2021, we have been carrying out monthly ammonia monitoring and conducted foliar analysis (vegetation sampling) once throughout the contract.
Previously, we had 3 separate sites running ALPHA sampling ammonia monitoring projects. The aim is to determine the concentrations of ammonia in with air and in the vegetation. We have been awarded funding to combine these sites and add an additional one into a larger regional contract.
We are seeking to test the market for a supplier to work with us on this project, using ALPHA samplers or equivalent, to produce results for the concentrations of ammonia in a format that can:
1. Align with the previous methodology that we have on site and provide data that can be compared to the previous projects.
2. Provide data that can be used on a national perspective, allowing comparison between NT sites, DAERA sites and other eNGOs.
3. Contribute data for the DAERA National Ammonia Monitoring Network, the UK National Ammonia Monitoring Network and the ROI National Ecosystems Monitoring network.
4. Feed into the ecosystem monitoring for Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Conservation Management Plans.

This Market Enquiry (ME) sets out the Trust's situation and objectives in respect of a replacement passenger ferry boat for Brownsea Island, and seeks initial information from various suppliers as to potential solutions, capacity, capability and market conditions.
This ME will be used by the Trust to determine availability of supplier solutions, with a view to confirming requirements and seeking formal quotes or proposals at a later date.
The Trust does not guarantee that any party responding to the ME will be included in subsequent stages of the selection process.
The National Trust have operated the same staff passenger boat (the Enterprise) at Brownsea Island for 50 years. Changing MCA legislation, coming into effect at the end of 2024, will result in a significant reduction in the capacity of this boat, meaning that a replacement vessel is now being sought. The necessity to replace the vessel presents an opportunity to opt for a larger boat and take over the running of the Sandbanks visitor ferry, combining staff and visitor services.
