South Holland District Council is soon to be commencing a construction contract that will see new swimming pool facilities developed as part of a major redevelopment project at the Castle Sports Centre, Spalding.
Upon opening of the new venue from January 2027, the existing Castle Swimming Pools building will then close, ready for demolition.
The Council intend to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified demolition contractor to safely and appropriately deal with the demolition of the old pool building including clearance and levelling of the associated site area.
This pre-market-engagement stage is intended to support and inform the future tender process, for these demolition works.
The Council is initially seeking feedback from suitably experienced and qualified demolition contractors to:
• Use their knowledge and experience to suggest how the project can best achieve its objectives.
• Provide indicative estimate pricing to help the Council understand the cost threshold of these works, guiding the eventual procurement tender process.

This is a pre-market engagement document and is not a tender document. The outcome expected of this market engagement is to guide the Council's future procurement for these works, and for potential providers to put forward their interest, should this proceed to a tender stage in future.
It is intended that providers can submit comments about these documents which potentially could be used to assist us should this progress to a tendering stage.

The South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) is a collaboration between three councils: Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey District Council, and South Holland District Council. It is the largest council partnership in the UK, serving over 300,000 residents across 1,112 square miles.
In South and East Lincolnshire, there is an ongoing demand for temporary accommodation.
To meet this ongoing demand for temporary accommodation, the Councils have become increasingly reliant on nightly-purchased accommodation from a wide range of providers.
It is important that the Councils regularise their expenditure on temporary accommodation with its appointed suppliers to ensure its compliance with procurement regulations and legislation, and to ensure the provision of safe and high-quality accommodation standards for its residents.

The requirement is to source the insurance coverage for the Contracting Authority across multiples of risk class.
Full details will follow within the Contract Documents.
Bidders are invited to register their interest regarding pre-market engagement by contacting Tony.Needham@theriskfactor.com.
Whilst it is noted that this contract will not be split into Lots, it is likely that it will be - the Lots are currently being finalised / defined and pre-market engagement with suppliers will assist this.
