South Hams District Council is seeking to work in partnership with a playground provider for the design, supply and installation of play equipment at Westonfields (TQ9 5UA) and Collapark (TQ9 5LW) play parks in Totnes.
The design, supply and installation of play equipment and associated safety surfacing at Woodlands Park and St John's Close play areas in Ivybridge, Devon. To include removal and disposal of the existing junior multi-activity unit at St John's Close play area.
Transport and research consultancy services are required to produce a Strategic Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan and behaviour change intervention strategy. The plan will be an evidence based cycling and walking network planning report including a network map and prioritised programme of improvements for walking and cycle routes across South Hams and West Devon. The behaviour change strategy will be informed by primary research to identify behaviour change interventions that are specific to our rural and hilly landscape and tie into findings in the LCWIP.
South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council are two local authorities in Devon England. They have a history of working together in partnership to deliver services to their respective residents. Between April 2019 and October 2022 both Councils outsourced their waste services. In October 2022, the service in South Hams was taken back in house. The service in West Devon remains outsourced to a private contractor.
South Hams and West Devon have worked closely with other Devon Authorities on a common strategy to deliver sustainable waste management services to our residents known as the Devon Aligned Service (the DAS service) and is fully deployed in West Devon.
South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council, the Council, operate many services within the South Hams and West Devon areas. This repair and maintenance contract is purely for South Hams fleet.
All of the Councils operational services have a demand for vehicles which assist our staff to complete mandatory and discretionary responsibilities to the residents, visitors and businesses of South Hams and West Devon.
As with all operational services there are many variations to each operational area. This variation has led the Council to consider splitting the Vehicle Repair, Maintenance and Associated Works Contract into three lots, as follows:
Lot 1 - Vehicles over 3.5T
Lot 2 - Vehicles 3.5T and under
Lot 3 - All Vehicles

The Authority wishes to let a concession contract for the collection and sale of waste for recycling by a suitably qualified and competent supplier i.e. waste broker, waste services provider or end processor, from its depots based in Torr Quarry, East Allington (TQ9 7QQ) and Ermington Road, Ivybridge (PL21 9EY).
South Hams District Council are procuring a works contract on behalf of Salcombe Harbour Authority and are seeking works for a moorings barge. Suppliers must be registered on the Central Digital Platform in order to apply for this opportunity https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Search
South Hams District Council (SHDC) and West Devon Borough Council (WDBC) are seeking to appoint a common Principal Contractor to work separately with each authorities to plan, drive forward and implement a car park maintenance programme over the next 3 years.
The primary objective is to bring the car park surfacing up to an acceptable standard, providing a maintenance free solution for the next 15 to 20 years, but with the consideration of minimising any loss of parking spaces.
Whilst this Tender is being issued jointly for efficiency, two separate contracts (one with each Council) will be signed with the successful Contractor upon award.
South Hams District Council is seeking to work with a play park provider for the design, supply and installation of play equipment at four Council owned play park sites:
- Rush Way, Totnes - replacement of toddler play equipment
- Gidley's Meadow, Dartington - replacement of existing play equipment
- Woolwell Community Centre play area - additional equipment
- Crowder Meadow, South Brent - replacement of existing play equipment
Further to the bid deadline of 14th November, the final design should be agreed by 19th December following any refinement through dialogue with The Authority. Installation and handover are expected to be completed by the end of May 2026 at the latest.
Applicants should submit 2D plan layouts as a minimum for each site showing new equipment (with existing equipment and features for context) but are invited to supply 3D visuals where it may assist with illustrating the proposal.

Salcombe Harbour (South Hams District Council) are planning to undertake maintenance dredging at three areas within the Salcombe – Kingsbridge estuary. These are Batson Creek, Lincombe and Kingsbridge. It is expected that the dredging will be undertaken by Water Injection Dredging (WID). This procurement exercise is intended to appointment a single supplier to carry out these works.
South Hams District Council (SHDC) and West Devon Borough Council (WDBC) (the Councils) currently have a leisure contract with Fusion Lifestyle which is due to end on 30 November 2041. However, uncertainties in the market mean that the Council is looking to understand what the cost of operating the centres under a short term contract would be, should it need to rely on it.
