Somerset County Council is looking to establish a Traffic Signals and Ancillary Equipment Maintenance Term Service Contract for Works to be conducted across the Authority's Highways network.
The form of contract will be the NEC3 April 2013 edition Term Service Contract 'TSC'
The Traffic Signals and Ancillary Equipment Maintenance Term Service Contract will cover the maintenance of the authorities traffic signal and associated equipment including replacement of equipment:
• Installation of new traffic signal-controlled junctions;
• Modification and refurbishment of existing traffic signal-controlled junctions/Pedestrian crossings/Communications & VAS/VMS;
• Commissioning of new, modified and refurbished traffic signal-controlled junctions;
• Cyclic maintenance activities, vegetation removal etc.
• Traffic management associated with the above activities; and
• Perform the role of Designer when appointed by the Service Manager.
The estimated spend per annum through the Contract is expected to be in the region of £250,000 to £350,000 for Routine Maintenance and an estimated £150,000 for Non-Routine Maintenance.
The duration of the Contract will be an initial term of 72 months (6 years) with two extension periods of 24 months (2 years) each. The total duration of the contract including extension options will be 120 months (10 years). The exercise of the extension options will be at the discretion of the Authority, dependent upon, amongst other matters, satisfactory supplier performance.
The aim of the community equipment and wheelchair services (CEWS) is to enable Adults,
Children, Young People (CYP) and/or their Carers to have access to a range of equipment,
amongst which is the ceiling track hoist service, wheelchair and postural seating services,
issued in accordance with assessed needs.
Somerset County Council is looking for a provider(s) to provide care and support in four brand new purpose built developments for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs in Somerset.

Somerset County Council has awarded a contract to develop a Somerset Futures Economic Impact and Scenarios Report. This quote opportunity was published directly to potential providers in line with the Authority's Contract Standing Orders.
The initial term of the contract will be for 12 months, with most of the work completed in the 2022 calendar year. There is an option to extend the contract for a further 6 months.
The value of the initial contract period is £34,000, excluding expenses and additional requirements identified during the process which will be charged inline with the agreed rate card.
Somerset County Council is seeking to support Early Years Providers to improve their Early Help offer to children and families.
This new service will provide CPD, network and peer to peer support and advice and support services to early years settings to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to provide timely early help (early intervention) to children and families in their care.
The new service will provide a consistent point of contact, advice, and resource to all Somerset settings, building capacity, knowledge, and confidence within the sector.
