Since 2017 Solihull Council has been successful with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) applications to undertake a wide range of habitat and nature improvement projects. This funding has delivered improved conservation status for habitat across publicly accessible green space within the urban areas of Solihull Borough. This contract is for works in 2 existing woodlands (Alcott Wood and Chelmsley Wood) comprising improvements to footpath surfacing and associated alterations to parkland furniture. The Council has a legal duty to promote equality of opportunity in access to accommodation and this includes appropriate provision of sites and pitches for Gypsies and Travellers. There are two adjacent sites in Solihull that provide a total of 18 permanent pitches for affordable rent. One of these sites is owned by the council (7 pitches) and the other is owned by Rooftop Housing (11 pitches). 1.2 Brief description of Service: Solihull MBC is acting as the lead authority for the procurement exercise relating to the provision of SCANNER (Surface Condition Assessment of the National Network of Roads) surveys for a joint survey of the Classified Road networks of the participating West Midlands District Councils, as defined in 2.4 This activity includes all survey work, data processing and supply of data in accordance with the current SCANNER specification, work must only be carried out using fully accredited equipment. It is proposed that the contract will be awarded on a single source basis on behalf of all 6 authorities. 1.3 Contract Term The proposed contract period is from 01.04.23 to 31.03.24 (1 year) with an option to extend for 2 x 1 years. Any extension of the contract would be agreed by both parties and would be subject to the terms and conditions of the main contract.
