Slough Borough Council (SBC) seeks early market engagement with a view to exploring the education and childrens software market. The Council is currently using Capita One. The MIS contract is currently on a rolling basis and will be extended further until a new contract is in place.
As part of this consultation SBC want to engage with providers to understand the software and functionality available within the market which meet its needs in achieving efficiency in both statutory and non statutory processes. Following early engagement, SBC will make a decision about how they wished to proceed in either solely retaining the current provider, or to commence an appropriate procurement.
Suppliers are requested to submit an expression of interest to the Council. The Council will then determine appropriate engagement, which may be via face to face meetings, group meetings, or virtual meetings, which shall take place during September 2022. In submitting their expression of interest, suppliers are requested to submit relevant market material. Such material shall not be used in any procurement but may be used to support the determination of what model of engagement is required with a supplier. Suppliers should note that not submitting an expression of interest does not effect their ability to enter or succeed in any subsequent competition.
Please submit your expression of interest via craig.lorne@slough.gov.uk.
Any competition is highly likely to be undertaken using the Council's In-Tend portal. Suppliers are therefore encouraged to register at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sesharedservices/aspx/Home if they are not already.

The Smart Sponge Catchments project aims to increase local flood resilience by implementing a sponge catchment method in Salt Hill Stream and Chalvey Ditches, in Slough and South Buckinghamshire. Local communities will be empowered to co-design flood measures that work for them, resulting in improved public spaces with greater flood resilience. A smart water monitoring network will provide data to an online community hub. We will combine traditional flood risk interventions with innovation in the collaborative catchment-based approach and use of Smart Technology in both engagement and benefits framework evidence gathering. Tender evaluation criteria will require appropriate weighting to innovation to encourage potential suppliers to maximise innovation potential.Technical consultancy and smart technology goods and services will be procured following an open day in for potential suppliers to find out more about our project, discuss ideas and demonstrate proposed solutions.
