St Osyth Priory & Parish Trust is currently in the development phase of a Round 1 application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) which will focus on the redevelopment of the Tithe Barn and Old Dairy and into hireable event and community spaces. St Osyth Priory & Parish Trust wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and highly experienced Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to work on the Development and Delivery Phases - RIBA 2 to RIBA 7 of this aspect of the project. This ITT sets out the background to the project, the tender process, timescales and management arrangements. There is, however, no guarantee that Delivery Phase services will be required, and bidders should take account of this. The Project Manager will be required to work with the immediate Project Team, including the Quantity Surveyor, Multi-Disciplinary Design Team and all other consultants towards the development and successful completion of the NLHF Round 2 application in August 2026. This will involve procurement and ensuring that all team members are delivering against the terms of their contracts and are providing work of a quality that meets NLHF and St Osyth Priory & Parish Trust's expectations and requirements. The Project Manager will be a key post in ensuring that the vision and ambition of the project are realised in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner, and that all of the elements of the application are interwoven and developed in tandem. With public access restored through events and the education centre after 30 years of closure, The National Lottery Heritage Fund Development Phase funded Project will focus on the redevelopment of the Grade II* listed Tithe Barn and Grade II listed Old Dairy into an attractive venue that can host weddings, celebrations, and community events alike. As part of this project, The Trust are offering a consultancy for a historian (including archaeologists, heritage librarians, museologists, archivists, teachers, and heritage architects) to explore the history of St Osyth Priory and to engage our volunteers and community with the heritage of the site. Please note, that this position is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund Development Phase Grant. The history of the site is under-researched, but information is available from a number of sources, with the Priory specifically referenced in documents relating to the dissolution in the National Archive and British Library, St Osyth mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon name stones at Lindisfarne, and the seal of St Osyth held by Alnwick Castle. Further information is available via the collections of Colchester Castle, a Historic England report, the works of local historian Phyllis M Hendy, and previous studies by architects from City & Country. The Trust will support access to these works where possible. The Historian will undertake research into the history of St Osyth Priory; this could include existing collections held by St Osyth Museum, a related historic event or topic or respond to an identified gap in the existing body of historical work. Please note the Delivery Phase is subject to successful funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. St Osyth Priory and Parish Trust is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Consultant to help deliver an Interpretation and Storytelling Plan through innovative curation, interpretation and exhibition design. You will be working on a site that covers over 1300 years of British History. We would like to understand how to tell the stories from key historic periods related to the site, and present these in innovative ways that foster greater community engagement and connection.
