South Western Railway (SWR) will be seeking information from the market regarding Train Planning Systems capable of supporting the creation, editing, integration, and validation of train schedules, rolling stock diagrams, and traincrew diagrams. The requirement covers systems that provide intuitive planning interfaces, comprehensive visualisation tools, and the ability to manage date‑bound timetable datasets across long‑term, short‑term, and very short‑term planning horizons.
The scope includes solutions that can integrate securely and efficiently with Network Rail systems and SWR's operational, rostering, optimisation, and business platforms, using industry‑standard data formats and APIs. Suppliers are also invited to provide information on systems that support automated validation of rolling stock and traincrew diagrams, including checks against operational rules, formation requirements, mileage constraints, route and traction knowledge, and depot‑specific standards.
SWR is additionally seeking insight into system capabilities for secure data exchange, auditability, and reporting, as well as indicative commercial models associated with delivering these functionalities.
Supply of Class 158 & Class 159 USB-C At Seat Power Material
South Western Railway Limited (SWRL) is planning to install at seat power for customers within standard and first-class accommodation within its Class 158 and 159 fleet as part of the wider ongoing project to refurbish this fleet.
The purpose of this modification is to make at seat power within first class more accessible along with the addition of USB-C charging and to introduce USB-C charging facilities for the first time to standard class and a minimum of one USB-C outlet for the non-driving side of each cab.
This is a Supply of Goods requirement. The headline requirements are as follows:
A minimum of one USB-C outlet per seat for both standard and first class;
A minimum of one USB-C outlet for the non-driving side of each cab;
The wheelchair bays shall have both USB-C and 230V outlets.
No minimum order quantity for spares.
