Separation of Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission network and domain
Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHET) seek a skilled provider of network and security consulting and project delivery services to design and deliver a major IT + OT network and authentication re-structure.
The objective of the project is to further separate SHET network zones from other SSE BU networking, enabling SHET to apply networking changes in a more agile way with less inter-group dependency. The projects span both IT and OT (operational technology).
The current network design is complex with a disparate combination of separate and shared services with other SSE businesses. It is important that the design for the "To-Be" solution minimises the risk to the business during the transformation from the current network architecture to the future model. Suppliers should appreciate transition will be undertaken in the context of a live operating environment.
This project will help ensure SHET continue to meet the NIS Directive CAF (Cyber Assessment Framework) B2 principle and contributing outcomes in the RIIO-T3 Ofgem regulatory period.
• In 2025 the project will define a costed strategy, architecture secure design, support model and execution plan for SHET to meet its desired network and security outcomes.
• In 2026 execution of the approved design will follow as part of the RIIO-T3 regulatory period. On-site execution will take place across the territory of Scotland.
It is desirable that the supplier have the capability to provide IT managed services and project delivery services (for example but not limited to networking, infrastructure, cybersecurity specialisms) and professional services as this may be a future requirement.
Due to the nature of the work involved, it is anticipated that the supplier and any sub-contractor personnel will be UK based and where necessary their employees assigned to the programme or with access to SHET data may be required to hold appropriate security clearance for their role.
To successfully deliver the project, the design and execution phases must address and deliver solutions that:
1. Improved Transmission OT systems and network, with increased cyber security prevention and avoidance of risk.
2. Maintenance of SHET compliance with the CAF Principle B2 and preparation to meet the Enhanced CAF Profile once released.
3. Enable SHET to:
a. Drive towards network independence whilst retaining benefits of sharing wider corporate network where beneficial to do so ,
b. Enable initiative-taking risk avoidance and management, and increased ability to accommodate future cyber and functional changes.
4. Strengthens SHET overall network security posture while also making it easier to monitor and track traffic throughout SHET network.
5. Solution will need to be scalable to support anticipated future business growth.

Cloud based large file collaboration, management and storage solution with user interface
Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Plc. ("SHET"), seeks a market leading supplier of cloud based file storage and collaboration solutions. The solution provided should be able to handle proprietary specialist file types such as Geospatial Information System (GIS), engineering design (e.g. AutoCAD), Building Information Management (BIM) and 3d laser scans, in the near term up to 50GBb individual file size and collections >30TBb, performantly and without any loss/degradation, sync error or corruption.
The solution needs to provide a user interface that separates the users from directly accessing the back end storage. This user interface needs to be intuitive and provide a positive user experience.
The solution will provide options to share files with internal and external collaborators which may be via login, link share or other methodologies. The solution will provide out of the box interoperability which will enable files to be surfaced (via connector/bridge/API or other methods) via cloud based SAAS applications such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, IBM Maximo, and ESRI ArcGIS, plus SharePoint and Microsoft O365. It is preferable that any connector/option has been proven in industry with similar clients.
The vendor must provide a means of migrating data from legacy sources into the cloud storage.
The solution should be hosted in the UK only and highly cyber-secure and resilient, and support all access control requirements. The solution should have a strong business-continuity-and-disaster-recovery offering.
The provider should provide timely high quality project delivery services and excellent post implementation customer support options.
Note that the SHET has confirmed through proofs of concept that generic file storage (as may be appropriate for office documents) may not be suitable for all such file types and so prospective tenderers are encouraged to carefully validate if their solution can handle such files.

Call off contract for two 2GW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Voltage Sourced Converter Stations associated with the Western Isles HVDC Link Project
Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Plc (SHET, the Authority) has awarded framework agreements to contractors who have the necessary capacity, capability, and expertise to deliver compensatory planting schemes.
Significant expansion in renewable generation in the SHET network area has driven a need to undertake a series of network reinforcement and expansion projects to increase capacity and improve network security. This work includes the building and rebuilding of Transmission overhead lines, the development of grid substations, converter stations and underground cable systems.
Due to the extent of this project portfolio, forestry is inevitably affected, and woodland removal is required in project areas to facilitate the construction and reinforcement of Transmission infrastructure. In response to this a significant volume of compensatory planting will be required. Compensatory planting will be required to support projects under RIIO T2, ASTI and RIIO T3.
