The requirements are for 1x stereomicroscopes and 01 LED light. These pieces of equipment will be essential to support the important ongoing research in species identification, analysis, and new species discovery, enhancing the quality of future scientific articles. Magnification capability of 120x is important for the taxonomic study of plant families such as Compositae where examination of micromorphology is an important component of species identification.

The purpose of this procurement exercise is to develop a Framework of Suppliers that work with Kew Gardens and Wakehurst to deliver and contribute to our creative vision for our
programmes.
A Framework is essentially a list of ranked suppliers. Suppliers are ranked according to the scores awarded by RBG Kew's evaluation panel during this procurement process and are awarded according to the Evaluation Criteria - as detailed in Part 1: ITT.
The goal of the procurement exercise is that we will have two lists of Suppliers (one for each Lot: Design & Fabricate; and Lot 2: Theatrical Performance).
This procurement comprises two Lots:
Lot 1: Design & Fabricate - We will expect the Supplier to respond creatively to the Brief and use their design and inventive problem-solving expertise to develop playful, inviting, unique, innovative and aesthetically sensitive responses, and to then manufacture, install, maintain and deinstall all programme deliverables, as well as undertake all associated project management.
Lot 2: Theatrical Performance - We will expect the Supplier to respond creatively to the Creative Brief and use their design and theatrical skills to develop imaginative, immersive and participatory theatrical programming together with the project management, design, install, maintenance and deinstallation of sets, stages, props and costumes to creatively cast and stage the performances within Kew landscapes.

We are looking to procure a supplier to initiate and close membership sales to prospective members face-to-face, on site at Kew Gardens. RBG, Kew has a successful membership scheme with over 100,000 members on around 80,000 memberships. This is made up of around 20,000 new sales and 60,000 renewals each year. We have ambitious plans to double our membership over the coming five years and we are seeking a partnership with a face-to-face membership sales agency to support this ambition.
We have an existing contract in place for this service, and our current contract for this service delivers up to 10% of our annual sales. We are seeking a supplier who can support us to grow this in line with our ambitious plans.
Membership sales pattern vary significantly depending on peak seasons and visitor flow. As a guide, our strongest sales days generate around 70 onsite sales, and we average around 15 on-site sales per day (through all our on-site channels both the front of house team and the sales agency)
Kew Gardens is a popular destination in South West London, currently the 13th most popular visitor attraction in the UK, and the #1 paid outdoor attraction, drawing almost 2 million visitors annually. We have huge potential to convert these visitors to members, and we are seeking a professional, experienced supplier to deliver this membership conversion. Secondary to membership sales, we expect the supplier to also deliver membership upgrades and renewals to existing members.
As well as being highly experienced in delivering sales in a face-to-face environment, we expect the supplier to have a high working knowledge of Kew Gardens and our membership scheme, including:
•Seasonal highlights and familiarity with the Gardens
•Current and future programming and events to draw visitors to a full years of membership
•Membership benefits, including seasonal offers
•RBG, Kew's brand and ethos as a world leading, pioneering scientific institution tackling the global challenges of biodiversity loss and climate change.
Upon appointment, the supplier will be given a full induction covering these points and will receive ongoing training which we expect all staff to attend to ensure they are able to provide knowledgeable and trusted interactions with visitors.
We anticipate the supplier will be experienced working in similar outdoor, visitor attraction environments and will have the necessary workforce to deliver year-round sales, dealing with peaks of visitor numbers which require higher staffing. The staffing pattern will be determined monthly, in collaboration with both RBG Kew and the supplier.

The aim of this tender is to procure a supplier to manage the design and production of Kew magazine. The publication is produced three times per annum and forms part of the package of benefits for those who join Kew Garden membership scheme, of which there are approximately 80,000 memberships (or approximately 110,000 members). Delivered as a print product to approximately 80,000 households, Kew magazine is viewed as an important communication tool to inform members about the Gardens including our Wakehurst site, Kew’s scientific purpose, and what’s on for members to enjoy.

The Learning Centre will take account of the most recent
developments in learning to ensure it is an inspirational space
for users of all ages and appeals to a broader range of audience
than the current space
The fundamental client brief for the Learning Centre is to offer
new teaching spaces and facilities for learning but this is
qualified by the requirement for any new building delivered
within the current Kew masterplan to comply with the 2021-
2030 Manifesto for Change. This requires the building to
achieve the highest possible level of energy efficiency from the
building fabric and its services installation and for the
embodied carbon employed in the structure of the building to
be minimised and ideally repaid by the renewable energy
created by the building within its service lifespan.
