The Extension of the Roade Village Library, including plans for fully costed options. Written tenders are to be received by 12 noon on the 4th April 2023 and be sent to: Roade Parish Council, at the address below. SPECIFICATION The library is located on the High Street in Roade, near London Road. Design Brief • Options for the expansion of the Library on the existing site within budget and adhering to all legal requirements. The expansion is to provide Roade Parish Council and Roade Junction Community Group with additional space for events, meetings, and activity groups. • Options will be reviewed by Roade Parish Council and go-ahead provided to the preferred option. • The selected option will allow for an increase in the use of the library by the local community, and be finished in a suitable finish ensuring it is in keeping with the current library building and the village. • The successful contractor will provide a complete 'Turnkey' solution to be provided for all options including building work, design, and project management. • The Tender should include timescales and costs for each option. • Ensure car parking is suitable for each option.

You are invited to submit a quote for cutting various areas of grass within the village of Roade. Areas to be cut will be shown on a map. The contract will run for a 3-year period commencing on 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2027 and the stipulated number of cuts must be carried out at regular intervals throughout the season. Depending on growth, more frequent cuts may be required and ordered by the Parish Council. These additional cuts will be at the price shown for "Single cuts" on the tender form. If you would be interested in being awarded the contract for a three-year period, could you please include quotes for grass cutting for the next three years on the understanding that the price remains as quoted for the season 2024/25, 2025/26, 2026/27. All work carried out must be to the satisfaction of the Parish Council who reserve the right to terminate the contract by giving one months' notice in writing. The successful contractor must agree to comply with the standards detailed in the specification and must forward a copy of their Public Liability insurance and herbicide certificate to the Parish Clerk before commencing the contract. Areas to be cut: Village verges - Mulch cutter mower, and strimmed around hedge bottoms, street furniture and street lighting poles, within the 30mph limit as per the map. Trees to be sprayed around the base 3 times per year to prevent strimmer damage Churchcroft Play Area - cut to a height of 25mm and strimmed around play equipment and furniture. Monthly strim of Churchcroft Drainage gulley. Weed kill along paths round base of trees and along perimeter fences 3 times per year. Weedkill along end of path leading up Croft Lane at bottom of Churchcroft to A508 x 3/yr Cemetery - Grass cuttings to be collected and removed every time, and mowings blown off grave stones to keep them clean, the Cemetery to be cut in its entirety on the day of mowing. Special care to be taken when working in the cemetery. Cemetery extension - due to be cut from Autumn 2023, so please quote for single cuts. Memorial Green - Grass cuttings to be collected and removed every time. Special attention to be taken prior to Remembrance Day. Leaf blowing the morning of Remembrance Sunday to ensure the Memorial Green looks presentable. Recreation Ground - To be cut to a height of 25mm and strimmed around play equipment, signs, along the perimeter and paths. All enclosed areas of play matting to be mown with care when required. Weedkilling of paths to be carried out 3 times per year. Please quote for up to 18 cuts per year as well as a price per single cut for each area. Front facing single storey flat roof extension for the addition of a meeting room and WC. The construction is primarily masonry construction with implementation of new lintels where denoted on the structural drawings for openings. The building is to be finished for occupation including all utilities. Ancillary work includes external services, drainage, external steps and soft landscaping. The Employer is not bound to accept the lowest or any tender and will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the Contractor in preparing said tender. The Tender should be strictly in accordance with the invitation document.
