Powys County Council (the Council) has engaged with suitably qualified and experienced organisations for Early Years Pre School Education Provision in Powys. Since September 2017, Powys early years education has been provided via contracted early years settings. From September 2025, the Council has awarded new framework for four years. All 3 and 4 year olds will have access to up to 10 hours of Early Years Education per week during term time. The new funding formula implemented in April 2024 5 GBP per hour per child. The provision will be split into catchment area lots. Providers could bid for more than one setting under either a single lot or under more than one lot. Please note, however, this may result in a partial award and will not provide an advantage over other, single, bids. Powys County Council is in the market to procure a Corporate Finance system that will integrate with other systems used by the services within the Council. The long term aim of the Council is to reduce the number of systems, avoid duplication and reduce the manual manipulation of data.
