The Seagahan Farming for Water scheme aims to develop sustainable, catchment-scale solutions for the protection of rivers and lakes, which are the main sources of our drinking water. The project focuses on reducing the amount of the herbicide MCPA, nutrients and soil getting into rivers, streams and Seagahan reservoir from which drinking water is abstracted. This Contract is for the provision of a replacement ICT solution to support NI Water’s statutory Water Fittings Inspection service, delivered in accordance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009. The Service includes the following:
• The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 require NI Water to inspect and enforce standards for plumbing systems to prevent contamination and ensure water quality. These Water Fittings Inspections are carried out by an established NI Water team of Water Fittings Officers who undertake proactive and reactive inspections at customer premises to ensure compliance.
• NI Water has recently refined its business requirements following an Internal Audit review, which recommended the introduction of a risk-based inspection strategy. As a result, new business rules and enhancements have been defined to ensure that high risk premises are inspected at the required frequency.
• In line with the NI Water IT Strategy, which emphasises the use of cloud services and adopts an “adopt, not adapt” principle, this project seeks a replacement Water Fittings solution delivered as a cloud-based SaaS, available commercially off the shelf (COTS).
• The Contractor shall ensure that future supplies meet the minimum mandatory Specification as show on: Appendix 1 & Appendix 2
• The Client reserves the right to amend the Specification or re negotiate the Price during the Contract Period to support innovation or changes in Service requirements.
• The Contract Term will be a maximum of 8 years, comprising an initial 5 year term, with the option to extend by 3 X further one-year periods.
• The Services will be delivered to the Client and the Client’s wholly owned subsidiaries.
