The purpose of the Inpatient Assessment and Treatment service is to provide comprehensive, intensive, and responsive inpatient assessment and treatment for adults with a learning disability who have challenging behaviour and/or mental health needs within the least restrictive environment possible. <br/>The service aims to assist Service Users in their recovery by involving them in all aspects of their care and treatment in a format that they can understand and to return them to the community as quickly as possible. This service aims to: prevent admission; reduce the length of stay; facilitate wrap around care / step-down care following discharge; by providing community-based AP Interventions to Service Users identified as “highly likely” to need admission, in collaboration with external organisations.
