Understanding Rail Demand through Mobile Network Data
Network Rail has requirement for a mobile network data driven solution that will enable Network Rail to understand passenger movements across its GB network and on all trains.
Network Rail (NR) owns, operates, and develops Britain’s railway infrastructure. That is 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. We manage 20 of the UK's largest stations while all the others, over 2,500, are currently managed by the country’s train operating companies.
NR are undertaking a Decarbonisation/ Energy Efficiency Programme across a range of built assets in all Regions. We have already completed over 150 energy audits so far and identified significant potential to reduce carbon and energy use.
NR aim to set up a framework that can be used for undertaking ‘common interventions’ that have been identified to help NR meet its energy efficiency targets. This will include the design, installation, and commissioning of the energy efficiency interventions identified by NR.
The objective is to award to one supplier per lot per region. The five Network Rail regions are Eastern, Northwest & Central, Scotland's Railway, Southern and Wales & Western.

As part of the South West Rail Resilience Programme this phase 4 of the programme involves cliff resilience works between Dawlish to Holcombe.
This award for works involve civils, primarily, but not limited to, cliff stabilisation, rock anchors, netting of several cliffs along this railway route.
This is a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice. This notice is to indicate that Network Rail intends to contract with Plasser UK Limited, for the Automation and Datamatics installation to Ballast Cleaning Systems.
Network Rail (NR) operates, maintains and develops Britain's rail tracks, signalling, bridges, tunnels, level crossings and many key stations. As a result, NR is one of the largest purchasers of energy in the United Kingdom (UK) with a total consumption of c.4.5TWh per annum. Her Majesty's Government (HMG) has made legal commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. Network Rail as a government owned enterprise is committed to support the achievement of this objective. NR aims to decarbonise its non-traction energy consumption by directly purchasing renewable energy from specific renewable energy projects thus supporting the development of additional renewable energy generation. Network Rail is seeking to secure a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) with a renewable energy generator for 45 GWh - 90GWh per annum of renewable energy (Project CoPPA).
This award is for a preventative monthly/quarterly maintenance programme, across various sites along the NW&C region.
In addition, the framework requirement is for reactive (unplanned) maintenance works, which must be provided 24/7.
Renewals and new installations are outside of scope of this Framework.
This is a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice. This notice is to indicate that Network Rail intends to contract with SPX Flow Technology Limited for the purchase of Clamplocks/ Inbearer Clamplocks and associated items which form part of point operating systems.
