Heritage across the UK faces a wide range of challenges over the coming years, which we have explored in detail during the development of our new National Lottery Heritage Fund strategy, 'Heritage 2033'. Our new strategy responds to these through the 'saving heritage' investment principle and the strategic intervention around heritage in need. It has become clear since the strategy consultation process, however, that historic ships face a combination of issues which mean vessels of genuine historical significance are in danger of significant damage or loss. The Heritage Fund is therefore seeking a consultant to research and develop evidence regarding the current overall need for investment in the historic ships of the UK and to support the development of a framework to help prioritise investment in historic ships by the NHMF. The work will help identify the relative historical importance of applications from the National Historic Fleet and assess the real cost of ongoing maintenance for historic ships. The research will also help shape future strategic interventions for the Heritage Fund in terms of supporting the historic ships sector. The Heritage Fund are looking to work with an agency partner to develop and implement an integrated campaign to raise awareness of our new approach to heritage funding through our new 10-year strategy, Heritage 2033. This new approach will open in January 2024 and this campaign will support that launch, so that applicants understand our new direction and know how to apply to us and are clear on what we wish to achieve through Heritage 2033. We are seeking a supplier to deliver the evaluation of the Species Survival Fund (SSF). The Heritage Fund is delivering this programme on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The SSF is a two-year £25million fund which focuses on the creation and restoration of wildlife-rich habitats to support species abundance at a landscape, catchment or local scale. The fund is designed to make early progress towards the statutory 2030 Species Abundance target in England. The SSF is being delivered by the National Heritage Memorial Fund, operating as the Heritage Fund, on behalf of Defra. The Heritage Fund is working in partnership with Defra to deliver this programme, with input from the Environment Agency and Natural England.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is seeking to procure a parliamentary and political monitoring service. The Heritage Fund is a UK-wide organisation that delivers funding across the UK in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. With a diverse range of relevant subject areas, monitoring services are integral to the function of the Policy and Public Affairs team. This service will support the Fund in gathering intelligence as well as monitoring debates and parliamentary (or devolved equivalent) activity. in February 2024 Allwyn took over as operator of the National Lottery. The new operator requires regular good cause summaries from each distributor which will be used in targeted marketing at point of sale, on their website etc. They will also develop some of the summaries into more detailed case studies for use in campaigns. UK Heritage Pulse is an established collaborative data and insight project for the UK's heritage sector. It is managed by a consortium of partners and supporters convened by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England. We are seeking a provider to deliver and provide the Heritage Fund support in developing, delivering and evaluating a sustainability engagement programme for the organisation that drives colleague engagement and culture change through actions. The Heritage Fund invests in the full breadth of the UK's heritage and, through our funding, we aim to make a lasting difference for heritage and people.
