NAM wishes to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to undertake the strip out of an existing gallery and the construction of a new exhibition in the vacated space as outlined in the attached documents and priced in accordance with Annex E - Template for Pricing, which should be read in conjunction with all the design drawings in Annex F (separate cover). The contractor is responsible for confirming their own measurements from site and producing As Built drawings for sign off by the Client. Full detailed drawings of each element will be produced by the exhibition designer, but the attached drawings are deemed sufficient for pricing.

The current permanent Battle Gallery is being represented with new displays and a new storyline. It will be called the Conflict in Europe Gallery and will open to the public on 7 April 2023. The new gallery will explore the large-scale European wars, it will be enlarged, incorporate five new display cases as well as utilising some existing cases. The Museum wishes to employ a suitably qualified and experienced mount maker to assist in the installation of the gallery, in particular, the manufacture and positioning mounts for the display items. There will be many objects in the gallery requiring mounts to be made from scratch and a number of objects that are re-using existing mounts these have been denoted on Annex A - Mount List. At this stage, the layouts of case is still being finalised, but, the Museum is asking tenderers to provide a price for mounts fixed at the base of the case and mounts fixed to the back of the cases. This will give the Museum the choice between the two display methods - please refer to mount type field on Annex A. Final case layouts will be available from 20th July and will be sent to the successful tenderer. In the costs, the mount maker will also need to account for measuring of objects at our Stevenage store and Chelsea Museum, both prior to making the mounts and after making to ensure they fit the objects seamlessly. The mount maker should also allow for attendance on site for around 6 weeks to fit the mounts on site during the installation of objects phase as noted in para 4. Programme below, of this document. They will work alongside the Museum's team of conservators and collections staff. The fee is in the region of £42,000 inclusive.

The Museum has a six point plan to develop which is outlined in the attached brief. The appointed contractor will bring to the plan suggestions on refinement, delivery and budget over a three-year period. They will also be responsible for pricing a Maintenance Plan which, subject to performance and budget may be extended by an additional two years.

The National Army Museum wishes to appoint a graphics company to print and install the graphic elements of a new permanent gallery entitled Conflict in Europe. This exciting new gallery at the National Army Museum, Chelsea, tells the story of the large European wars, from the Napoleonic period onwards. The graphics remit comprises object labels, text panels and large scale wallpaper imagery. It also includes facsimiles of some paper items, provision of samples and installation on site. The National Army Museum (NAM) is a leading authority on the British Army and its impact on society past and present. Across three locations - the main Museum in Chelsea and its Reserve Collections Store and Vehicle Store in Stevenage - the Museum employs ~85 permanent staff and in 2019/20 hosted over 235,000 visitors to the Museum in Chelsea. With this tender, the National Army Museum is looking to appoint a Service Provider to deliver the Manned Security Services to the Museum's Chelsea and Stevenage sites.

NAM are creating a new permanent gallery called 'Army at Home' which tells how our Army helped to unify and forge the identity of our nation and its work on home soil, from ceremonial duties, through humanitarian assistance to preventing terrorism on our shores. The Scope of Work includes: • Provision of two new climate controlled display cases as outlined in Annex F-1 issued under separate cover. These should be read in conjunction with the specification for new display cases outlined in this brief under the heading 'Case specification and performance requirements for new display cases'. • The reconnection Museum issue miniclimas type EBC10 and EBC11/12 into 5 existing cases. Information is contained in Annex F -2 which is issued under separate cover. • Retrofit 12no existing cases and supply and install new miniclimas. Note: miniclimas are to have minimum two-year warranty - refer to Annex F under separate cover and point 6 in this brief. Fitting of new seals to cases.

It is anticipated that this work would because of the amount of required to support this it would be for two days a calendar month (actual days to be agreed). One day working with staff providing the collection items and one day to to edit and upload to the Museum's server. Images to be provided in RAW and in TIFF format. Ownership of all work generated as part of this project will continue to be vested with the Museum. The Museum has the following equipment that can be used for the works: • Hasselblad X1D Mirrorless Medium Format Camera • 45mm f3.5 XCD Lens • 80mm f1.9 XCD • 120mm f3.5 XCD Lens • Elinchrom ELC Pro-HD Compact 500 Flash Head x6 The appointed contractor will need to make use of and demonstrate understanding of our equipment prior to appointment. The successful contractor will be required to complete an Information Sharing Agreement prior to starting work. To allow comparison, tenderers are required as part of their submission to provide at least three examples of their work and their "day rate" for the work as indicated. They should include VAT where required. Tenderers will be required to provide evidence of public liability insurance to the value of £5,000,000.

The Museum has utilised a digital collections management system since 1990. It migrated to its current platform (Cabal) in 1998 - a custom-designed database, developed and maintained in-house by the Museum's Technical Services team. The National Army Museum is seeking to appoint and company(ies) to design, edit, print, and post materials relating to its membership scheme and to design, edit and print the Museum's magazine. The initial scope of this work will be to produce materials which reflect the current design and approach for printed materials, based on the current brand guidelines and tone of voice. The appointed company(ies) will be expected to deliver a creative and innovative solution on time and must meet the Museum's aims as set out in the brief and in any subsequent briefings. The contract will run for a two - year period, commencing in April 2024 with the option to extend for up to an additional two further years at the end of March 2026.
