The aim of the service is to provide non-clinical environment drop in sessions which enables mothers to access both social support and expert advice and resources. The service provides a qualified and licensed Breastfeeding Counsellor who facilitates the Baby Café across 4 venues for 6.5 hours a week, over 48 weeks. The project will help to identify the activities that the young carers are particularly interested in and coordinate the activities with providers. The nature of young carers requires a more flexible approach to the provision of Personal Budget projects for Adult Carers, this is due almost exclusively to the need for transport and supervision while engaged in those activities. The service will offer the access of free exercise in a suitable environment and health education to carers with the aim to result in individuals reporting a better sense of well-being. The benefit of implementing the service includes a reduced risk of other health related conditions such as obesity, coronary heart disease and diabetes. The service will outreach organisations working with carers and offer structured exercise plans which will be facilitated by a qualified fitness instructor.
