The service provides a diagnostic test to detect H.Pylori, which can then be treated in primary care. Successful treatment of H.Pylori infection with antibiotics can contribute to the prevention of peptic ulcers. The diagnostic test is carried out by a range of contracted General Practices and Community Pharmacies within LLR, with test results and any subsequent treatment organised by the practice (as part of routine primary care).

This is an Intention to Award notice via a Competitive process, conducted in line with the Provider Selection Regime for Healthcare Services 2023, placed by NHS Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (ML CSU) on behalf of the Commissioner NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (LLR ICB). The ICB was seeking to commission a provider to deliver Specialised Services for Homeless, Asylum Seekers and the Special Allocation Scheme in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

To provide the locally registered population with convenient and equitable extended access to general practice (365 days per year, including Bank Holidays) from Leicester City Healthcare Hub Services, with referrals from Leicester City GPs, NHS 111 and UHL LRI ED to support urgent and emergency care services.

Provision of services for Merlyn Vas Healthcare Hub services to include integrated urgent care and primary care services, based in a community care setting within Leicester City for patients residing in LLR, including an Urgent Treatment Centre (08:00-20:00), and a GP Out-of-Hours service (21:00-08:00), seven days per week, to meet local demand and prevent avoidable visits to an Emergency Department (ED), and reduce the number of patients attending.

The aim of the service is to deliver all essential, additional and enhanced primary care services to all registered patients at the practice, whilst seeking innovation in the provision of integrated primary care services, which align to both the national and local strategic plans. This contract has been awarded to: Westend Medical Practice T/A WB Medical Group Westend Medical Practice trading as WB Medical Practice, Westcotes Health Centre, Fosse Road South, Leicester, LE3 0LP The full contract value for the duration of the contract is £14.3m at 2022/23 prices subject to annual price adjustments. The contract shall be for a term of ten (10) years from the Service start date with the option to extend the term by up to another five (5) years beyond the initial 10-year contracted term at the Commissioner's discretion. The contract start date is 1st of July 2023.

S 12 Solutions App to assist Doctors and Approved Mental Health Professionals to convene a team to undertake a detention assessment under the Mental Health Act. The S12 Solutions App, developed by an existing Adult Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), is designed to streamline the assessment process, making it easier for AMHPs to find doctors to certified to deliver Mental Health Act assessments. It also provides a route for doctors to claim a fee for work undertaking a Mental Health assessment. The S12 Solutions app maintains a log of all assessment activity with the supporting detention papers is of great importance. This is a fixed fee contract. The contract is below threshold and this notice is signaling our intention to direct award a contract to this provider for 3 years. The contract is below threshold for the ICB as a sub-central body. The mandatory standstill period ends at midnight on 25th June.
