The project involves the replacement of outdated lighting control panels and associated systems in the office block of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). The aim is to modernize the lighting control infrastructure, integrate emergency lighting testing capabilities, and improve the overall efficiency and compliance of the lighting system. This includes the replacement of SpaceLynk modules to ensure the system can generate monthly emergency lighting reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Forensic mental health services are for people with a mental illness or learning disability who may be a risk to themselves or others because of their medical condition. The Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 places a requirement on NHSGGC to ensure that patients with a mental illness are able to be treated in facilities which meet their needs and are not subject to higher levels of security than they require.
NHSGGC seeks to contract a supplier to provide a SQA level education programme and an adult literacy and numeracy education programme for patients across both a medium and low secure unit (Rowanbank Clinic and Leverndale Hospital), in order to introduce patients to a small classroom experience, providing a variety of subjects using different activities to teach. NHS GG&C require the Building Energy Management System (BEMS) at the Beatson Cancer Care Hospital to be upgraded to meet the criteria detailed with the BRE Energy Management and Building Controls briefing paper. This means that a full ’turnkey’ project encompassing a fully designed, supplied, installed and commissioning of the project is needing to be delivered. The project will upgrade the existing control installation including the design of revised control strategies, supply and installation of new controls panels along with all required sensors, hardware & software to allow the BEMS to be a managed protocol, remotely accessible system which meets the full criteria of “Class A” of the BRE paper is required. This will need to be completed by End March 2024 to meet financial deadlines imposed by the Scottish Government.

Furthermore, an allocation of 91,607.23 GBP has been assigned for the maintenance of this unit, which includes 2 years’ worth of warranty and 6 years of maintenance support including Servicing, Breakdown labour and parts, and Remote support.
Market engagement suggests no alternative solution for this requirement, due to the below:-
The system must be approved (CE/UKCA) for use with both Lu-177 and I-131 pharmaceuticals, which are the two therapeutic radionuclides the department expect to use the injector for.
It should be possible to swap out vials to allow multi-vial administrations.
Through market engagement the equipment is considered the solitary option for the Health Boards requirement.
