Nurse call systems are an important life safety system which have a direct impact on patient services and safety, these systems are located in patient areas and allow patients to summon nursing assistance at the bed space or nursing location, and for the clinical staff to communicate remotely with the patient and with each other which is an essential life safety component of bedhead services.
Due to the specialist service of nurse call systems there are a small number of recognised service providers who have the resource, technical expertise and maintenance coverage that healthcare facilities require. Static systems are one of these providers and at GJ the nurse call systems are manufactured, installed and maintained by Static.
Due to the technical requirements, including the need of the upgrade needing to link up to existing Static Systems Group nurse call system which is a closed loop system coupled with the local understandings of the ward areas progressing these works through Static Systems would provide seamless upgrade.
GJ believes that Static System Group are the only supplier that can conduct this requirement due to the Static Systems Group Nurse Call system installed has been a closed loop Static Systems Group Nurse Call system.
Therefore the best course of action to insure compliance with procurement regulations, and ensure the continued maintenance of these systems, is to publish a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice.
The fire detection system is currently maintained and serviced by ADT.
Due to the complexity and size of the project the service provider would be able to manage, mobilize and schedule these works within the required timescales.
Much of the existing fire alarm system has been installed by ADT and that would ensure that the site wide fire system was fully standardised by ADT.
ADT provide maintenance and support for fire systems and have support covering reactive and planned maintenance of the fire system within the site where the technician has extensive knowledge of the systems. Due to the size and nature of the fire alarm system ADT are thought be the only service provider who could provide the installation.
The reason this requirement has been published as a VEAT in addition to above is that ADT are thought to be the only company that can access the current closed protocol panels and upload then to the new open protocol panels.

The Golden Jubilee National Hospital intend to purchase 2 Needle Arthroscopy systems complete with consumable single use video-arthroscopes and associated single use instrumentation enabling arthroscopic procedures to be performed in an outpatient setting. The cost detailed is for the Needle Arthroscopy System including the disposable instruments over three years. Is in an approx. usage and is not binding to the Board.
NHS Golden Jubilee intends to appoint Frameworks Scotland 2 Primary Supply Chain Partner, Kier Construction to carry out additional Car Park redesign works to the NHS Golden Jubilee Site.
NHS Golden Jubilee wishes to appoint a sole supplier to meet our requirement over the contract period to provision storage and shelving solutions in three theatre store areas and potentially other store areas outwith theatres.
At present the Health Board has capital funding available to provision the theatre store areas in its phase 2 expansion known currently as the Surgical Centre and its new simulation centre for the NHS Academy. It is possible (but not guaranteed) that during the life of the contract, further capital funds will be released to re-provision other theatre storage areas.
The contract duration will be for 3 years from award date and all prices will be fixed for the duration of the contract.

GJNH require a single supplier to provide Theatre Nursing Staff Teams. Teams will consist of the following staff:
-Anaesthetic practitioner x 1 (RN band 5 or 6)
-Theatre Assistant/HCSW x 1 (Band 2 or 3)
-Theatre Scrub Practitioner x 1 (RN or ODP band 5/6)
-Circulating Nurse/ODP x 1 (band 4/5/6) (must be able to scrub for the speciality)
N.B. The following is mandatory:
-The Theatre Scrub Practitioner (Band 5/6) must work with Band 4 Scrub/Circulating practitioner.
-The Circulating Nurse/ODP x 1 (band 4/5/6) must be able to scrub for the specialty.
Contract start date is 10th January 2022.
The contract duration will be for 11 weeks, with an option to extend for 2 x 13 week periods at the Boards discretion.
