The main output of this programme is for blood group genotyping to become embedded into routine practice. Primary objective (benefit) of doing so is to ensure patients with rare blood disorders have a minimise risk of adverse reactions through access to blood group genotyping.

To support the paediatric hearing improvement programme. The National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) will provide six work packages for the programme to support review, recall and harms assessments, communication and enable patient lived experience are considered and used to inform service providers.

Development of a standard rapid Auditory Brainstem Response External Quality Assurance (ABR EQA) scheme focused on ABR traces only in partnership with Gen QA (consortium with NEQAS and the National Physical Laboratory), to facilitate national and regional ABR EQA and provide an improved measure and assurance of testing performance.

Provider to deliver in partnership an Older People's Sounding Board. This will help ensure across NHSE (and beyond) that we fulfil our statutory duties to involve people and communities. In particular it will enable older people to influence decision making, policy development, planning, services design and services review.

This is for the continued support of screening for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) as part of the In-Service Evaluation (ISE). The seven regional newborn blood spot screening laboratories participating in the SCID ISE are: Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) South West Thames South East Thames (Synnovis) Newcastle * Manchester Birmingham Sheffield * Newcastle lab's EQA tests the two SCID methodologies.
