NHS Derby & Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (DDICB), Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council invited expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers of Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and Continuing Care (CC) Homecare Services ("the service"), to be delivered across the population of Derby & Derbyshire.
The requirement will cover 100% health funded care packages for CHC Adults, CC Children & Young People and Fast Track services. Providers could apply for one or all of the 3 areas. Jointly funded care packages with Derby City Council or Derbyshire County Council were also covered by this contract (by exception).
Any Qualified Provider (AQP) contracts are awarded on a zero value, zero volume basis. The contract for the initial window will commenced 01st June 2023 and will end 31st March 2028. The total available contract will be for a period of 4 years 10 months with an option to extend for up to a further 22 months to the 31st March 2030 at the discretion of the commissioner. However, the contract length will be from the point of award until the expiration date of the contract.
The contracts dates (01st June 2023 - 31st March 2030) reflect the full contractual term for these services. Any applications awarded in subsequent windows during the life of the contract will have varying start dates but will all co-terminate on 31st March 2030.

This procurement was commenced prior to the 1st January 2024, under the Light Touch Regime (LTR) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. For the avoidance of doubt, the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 do not apply to this procurement process.

Derby Integrated Community Equipment Services (DICES)
Derby Integrated Community Equipment Service (DICES) provides a range of equipment on loan to people of all ages ordinarily resident in the city of Derby, following assessment and prescription by a recognised prescriber.
The service being commissioned relates to the logistics of supplying, collecting and maintaining the equipment. Clinical input to the service is provided through the pool of recognised prescribers, a clinical commissioning function provided by DDICB, and a multi-agency Equipment Review Group. The provider will work within this framework, ensuring that the agreed clinical governance arrangements, both for individual items of equipment and strategic decisions about the equipment to be provided/policies and procedures for equipment provision, are followed appropriately.
As a result of this above threshold Open procedure process, a Contract will be awarded to the successful Provider for a period of 3 years (1st May 2026 to 30th April 2029), with the Commissioner having the option to extend the contract for up to a further 24 months to the 30th April 2031.
This notice is a Contract Award Notice published as per the requirement of section 50(1) of the Procurement Act 2023. The standstill period will end will end at Midnight on 29 January 2026.
