A Contract will be let by Mid Ulster District Council and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. The Council/Councils has/have a statutory obligation to collect and dispose residual and bulky wastes that have arisen from both household kerbside collections and household recycling centres within the district area. The purpose of this Contract is to provide a treatment service for Contract Waste which has historically been sent to landfill. This is to ensure the Council/Councils comply with the legislative requirements of the EU Waste Framework Directive and the EU Landfill Directive, in respect of household recycling targets and reduction in municipal to landfill.

WATER QUALITY MONITORING SERVICE/ Legionella Control Management Programme
Mid Ulster District Council wishes to appoint a suitably experienced and competent contractor to assist in monitoring the legionella risks across the Council's estate. The Council engages in the usual range of Local Government activity, including Leisure Services, Community Services, Parks and Open Spaces, Tourism, Cultural Facilities, Refuse Collection, Street Cleansing, Environment Health, Burial Grounds, Public Conveniences, Administration, Employment, Finance, Economic Development and Building Control amongst others. This requires the provision of approximately 110 buildings/facilities across the Council area, ranging from Public Conveniences to large Leisure and Administrative Centres. The contractor will develop a written scheme to control the risk and will assist in managing the implementation of the assessments. The contractor will also ensure the safe and correct operation of the system implemented, and that a process of checks and monitoring are introduced to ensure the risks are managed. The successful contractor must ensure that the works and components thereof comply with all recommendations, requirements and current editions of the following (as amended): • Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978 • Management of Health and Safety at Work (NI) Regulations 2003 • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (NI) Regulations 2002 • Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 and HSG274
