Bassetlaw District Council (BDC) is working in collaboration with the UK Atomic Energy Agency (UKAEA), and the North Notts Business Improvement District (NNBID) to open the first Fusion Energy Café in the world. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in a once in a generation project, highlighting the opportunities of fusion to local communities, including through the multi-billion STEP programme at West Burton, and seeking to maximise the benefits fusion has to offer.
BDC, UKAEA and NNBID are looking to collaborate with either a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisation, Private cafe owner and/or training provider to operate the community training cafe. To operate the cafe and provide catering and hospitality training for learners with a disability, who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or are long-term unemployed. This will provide the opportunity for volunteering, training, employment, and signposting, as well as joint investment in community development and social inclusion. Independent café operators are not precluded from the EOI process if they feel the business model could work alongside the catering and hospitality training provision and the skills outreach focus of the Community Café.
it is expected the operating model will either be a single supplier providing cafe and training services, a partnership of a cafe operator and a training provider, or a main and sub contractor arrangement with a lead supplier taking responsibility for both sides of the services.
We are seeking an independent expert partner with a proven track record of success with similar projects, to support an improvement and productivity plan for the planning service at Melton Borough Council. The Council wants to improve its reputation and its ability to turn applications around in a timely manner, increasing capacity through increasing productivity. The successful partner will work collaboratively with the planning service to support a shared understanding of the purpose and vision, overcoming the issues that are causing backlogs of planning applications and damaging the reputation of the service, and council, as a result. If these issues are not resolved the planning service could fail and that would result in government intervention. The improvement project will require process, people and technology development and changes, involving staff and members in order to improve customer service.
