Magnox requires analysis assurance services in support of the statutory required environmental surveillance of site aerial and liquid radioactive discharges. Specifically, discharged liquid effluents and environmental materials collected within the vicinity of its operational sites.
The existing Reactor Buildings at Trawsfynydd are now life expired and require works to mitigate against further degradation, thus ensuring they remain safe and compliant for subsequent decommissioning activities. In addition there are long term commitments through the Town and Country Planning process to reduce the visual impact the buildings currently have on the landscape within the Snowdonia National Park.
The Height Reduction project has therefore been implemented with the objective of reducing the height of both reactor buildings such that they are left in a safe and stable configuration for the next phase of works to decommission the Trawsfynydd site whilst significantly reducing ongoing asset investment demands.
The reduction in height will also satisfy the requirements to lessen the visual impact the current full height buildings have within the Snowdonia National Park.
The Magnox Ltd Health Physics 3 (HP3) dynamic purchasing system (DPS) is open for use by Magnox, DSRL, LLWR, NNL and Sellafield (the Participating Entities).
This opportunity is a collaborative procurement for the provision of health physics monitoring surveyors resources and other health physics monitoring resources with portable metrology and includes manual assistance in decommissioning and waste management operations.
The following services shall be procured using the DPS: -
Category 1: Health physicists including Radiation Protection Advisors to provide health physics advice and training to staff, subcontractors and visitors.
Category 2: Health physics monitoring surveyors resource and other health physics support resource, without portable metrology.
Category 3: Health physics monitoring surveyors resource and other health physics support resource supplied with portable metrology instruments.
Candidates can apply for pre-qualification against one or more categories to gain access to award stage work packages. Pre-qualification remains open and live for the duration of the DPS, therefore a pre-qualification response can be submitted at any time.
