Objective: To maintain safe homes for Magna customers through effective fire safety measures.
Magna Housing Ltd invites tenders from suitably qualified, experienced, and third-party accredited contractors to undertake Passive Fire Safety Works under a measured term contract. The appointed contractor will support Magna in delivering essential fire safety improvements across its housing stock, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and maintaining safe living environments for residents.
Magna conducts Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) at intervals ranging from 1 to 3 years, depending on the assessed risk level. Risk levels are determined by dwelling type and resident profiles. Following each FRA, Magna reviews and prioritises recommendations, which form the basis of the works required under this contract. We anticipate the Year 1 budget to be approximately £1.2 million (TBC – subject to the budget setting process).
The contract may include, but is not limited to, the following services:
Compartmentation / Passive Fire Stopping
Fire glazing
Maintenance of Fire Doors
Installation of Certified Fire Doors (glazed and non-glazed)

MGN202 - Bin Store & Drying Area Works at Sandringham Court
Magna Housing Ltd invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to carry out improvement works to the communal bin store and drying areas at Sandringham Court, a sheltered housing site in Dorchester.
These works have been identified following a Fire Risk Assessment and are intended to enhance safety, usability, and compliance with relevant standards.
The scope of works will include, but is not limited to:
- Upgrading the communal bin stores to reduce fire risk and improve accessibility.
- Improving drying areas to ensure safe and practical use for residents.
- Incorporating fire safety measures as recommended in the Fire Risk Assessment i.e. location of these facilities
All works must be completed using appropriate materials and methods in accordance with current building and fire safety regulations. Contractors must demonstrate competency as part of their tender submission.
The successful contractor will be expected to work collaboratively with Magna and act in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, ensuring safe delivery of the project and compliance with all statutory requirements.
