The Department for Education requires a suitably experienced Contractor to express their interest to tender for the Design and Build of temporary accommodation for the provision of a specialist mathematics teaching school in Cambridge. The temporary accommodation should be of suitable quality allowing easy decant of FF&E and ICT equipment to the permanent facility. The building is to be accommodated by Cambridge Mathematics School and provide teaching facilities to 80 sixth-form pupils and 10 FTE staff. The existing building is located at 119 Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 2AZ. The original building was recently extended and refurbished for the use as a languages school. The property covers the ground, first, second, and third floors, with a total of circa 900sqm. The client requires internal alterations, mechanical and electrical works. The following key items have been identified as required to be undertaken as part of this scheme: 1. Removal and installation of new internal lift and access ramps. 2. Remodelling of existing layouts to suit school requirements. 3. Strip-out and installation to suit new room layouts (including MEP services); this includes 2no. science labs. 4. External works including clearing of vegetation, repair works to roof and brickwork, minor landscaping, and installation of new gates. 5. Provision of FF&E to suit the new room layouts. The target construction programme including mobilisation runs from 07/04/2023 to 17/08/2023, however the Academy Trust would welcome an earlier completion. The project is scheduled to be handed over to the school on/before 31st August 2023 to allow them to use it for outreach activities prior to opening of the school in September 2023. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). The Contractor will be responsible for developing, agreeing, and finalising the design following client engagement meetings as well as undertaking the overall construction works before handover to the school. The works will be contracted via a two-stage D&B contract. An appropriate Principal Contractor will be appointed under a PCSA to further develop the design, manage any planning / statutory applications required and inform a fixed price for the works. Responses to the ITT will be judged against the evaluation criteria set out in the ITT documentation. The S278 works are located at North Circular Road, London, W5 3AU. The S278 works are within the highway and are a combination of footway resurfacing works and carriageway surfacing works, with traffic light and streetlighting installation. The works in question involve the construction of the following: - Provision of traffic signal infrastructure - Dropped crossing arrangement and associated footway works - Carriageway surfacing works - Road markings - Road signs - Street lighting - Power Supply The Contractor will be responsible for the management and construction of the works along with engagement with TfL for the works to obtain any necessary permissions, road closures and/or specialist installation works by TfL. All technical approvals have been granted by TfL. TfL will be providing and installating the above ground signal equipment, however it will be the responsibility of the appointed Contractor to coordinate these works with TfL from a programme perspective. It is intended that the main contract be entered into circa February 2023 with the contracting authority considering that this being suitable for SME enterprises with experience on similar projects. It is estimated that construction works would commence in March/April 2023. At this stage, the tendering authority is looking to assess interest in the scheme via Contract Finder and compile a list of interested Contractors to be contacted as part of the formal procurement. LocatED, an Arms-Length Body to the Department of Education (DfE) requires a suitably experienced Contractor to express their interest to tender for the refurbishment works at Morley College Chelsea Centre (MCCC). MCCC is a creative arts further education centre located at Hortensia Road in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It compromises of 2 buildings, the Chelsea (2011) and the Carlyle (1937) which is Grade II listed. The following interventions are required as part of this scheme. 1. Increase the college's visibility on the street. The Chelsea ground floor is to be remodeled to increase visitor capacity, and more provocatively display practical teaching spaces and student work with enhanced large format AV and open circulation. 2. Minor strip out and refresh of the Carlyle ground floor to relocate the existing library and allow the Chelsea ground floor works to start. 3. Refit of the rest of the Chelsea building to increase the teaching capacity and relocate staff on upper floors. Mechanical ventilation is required in multiple areas which currently overheat. A full planning application will be required for additional plant to be installed on the 3rd floor roof. The target construction programme runs from 27/07/23 to 22/12/23 phased across 3 sections in live buildings. The college would welcome an earlier start in the summer to allow the ground floors to be handed over on/before the 31st of August for the college's opening in September 2023. The works are to be priced using the pricing schedule included in the ITT alongside the Contract Drawings to achieve the Employers Requirements. A completed PQQ (attached) is to be emailed to Rafaella Christodoulidi from all those interested in the scheme by 09/12/2022.
