This tender is for the replacement of Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at LNER that sit within our station environment. We are looking to replace 87 (+ or – 20% as a range on this figure) incumbent devices with new multi-functional retail devices that will be known as Smart Ticketing Machines (STMs), to service our customers’ needs today and in the future. We want to improve the customer experience, less clicks, less stress, happier customers and empowered colleagues. We are looking to utilise improvements in technology to ensure our new devices can add more value to stations going beyond just retailing tickets. We want to have digital screens capable of retailing tickets as well as offering multi-functionality. This will include an opportunity to display advertising and marketing materials, customer information and disruption information. These devices will possess the opportunity to link into other projects whether it be wayfinding, British sign language or other LNER led digital projects.

LNER is seeking proposals from established PR Agencies, along our route, to become preferred suppliers for our public relations campaigns. The successful agencies will become part of our preferred supplier list and will be able to exclusively pitch for any future PR requirements we have during the contract period. The preferred supplier list will be open for an initial period of 3 years, with two additional 1-year extension options. The agencies will be required to fully realise, manage and execute projects, campaigns and events which will support and communicate LNER’s business aims.

It is a category A Station in accordance with DFT listing it as a national hub to the East Coast Mainline rail network. The key objective of the LNER Train and Station Cleaning Services contract is to identify a partner who is able to deliver and continue to improve on the high standards, utilising efficiency, flexibility and innovation in line with the needs of our customers and our business. LNER seek to support an innovative and dynamic Service Partner who provides a customer and facilities centric presentation services solution, whilst optimising performance, achieving robust resource management and efficiency in a continuous improvement and evolving environment. One of the key requirements of this process is the combination of both the fleet and station aspects and LNER are looking for the bidders to utilise resource across both areas therefore increasing the efficiency of the proposed workforce.
