The Bidder is required to deliver twelve risk based audits to the corporate centre and directorates. A list of the 12 risk based audits will be provided after the appointment of the successful bidder, however, we reserve the right to make substitutions where required. These audits will be carried out during 2025/26, with all final reports cleared by the Corporate Directors and being delivered to the Internal Audit Manager within 12 months after the start date of this contract. We expect that these audits will be spread throughout the year and we will work with the successful bidder to agree a suitable timetable.
Since the Council took over the commissioning of these community-health services from the NHS in 2014-15 performance has typically improved steadily year-on-year. For the last three years Newham has been the highest ranked Council in England for the uptake of NHS Health Checks among eligible residents aged 40-74. Maintaining the high standards of uptake for Health Checks is more important than ever: since the onset of the COVID pandemic the number of cases of diabetes and heart disease detected by health checks has increased.
This contract is to cover the specialist integrated sexual health services (ISHSs) that local authorities are responsible for commissioning, including (but not limited to) testing and treatment and follow-up for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the provision of HIV PrEP, provision of the full range of contraception (including complex contraception), health promotion and prevention including relevant vaccination and Psychosexual support.
