Additionally, the estimated total value has increased from £75m to £125m. The purpose of the BATS Marketplace DPS is to access a greater breadth of capable supply chain organisations to utilise commonly used business and technical service solutions. The procurement project will deliver a 4-year multi-lot framework agreement. The current estimated maximum spend through the overall framework is £14,700,000 GBP, although the framework is formally a zero-value agreement, with no spend guaranteed. The potential framework value is forecast to meet the demands of the joint waste management plans between NWS and its Customers, the delivery of a framework that meets customer requirements in terms of cost, quality and schedule is key to the success of the framework.
The scope of the new framework is to undertake the following:
Lot 1: Transportable ISO Freight Waste Containers (and associated equipment)
Lot 2: Manufacturing UN Approved Transportable Waste Drums, design, supply and distribution of specific UN Approved drums for the transport of solid and liquid materials
Lot 3: The supply and distribution of Soft Sided Packages (SSP's) for use as a single transport disposal package
Lot 4: NOVAPAK spares and repairs - to manage and distribute a stock of strategic spares, provide capability to carry out repairs to the NOVAPAK fleet and provide a maintenance contingency for the NOVAPAK fleet

Nuclear Waste Services intend to issue a procurement for Repository Development Programme (RDP) Independent Construction Quality Assurance (ICQA) later in 2023. The Repository Development Programme will install the necessary closure engineering works required to provide both short-term and long-term environmental protection for the waste currently disposed in Vault 8 and the adjacent trenches. ICQA is required to mitigate the potential risk of failure of the closure engineering works due to substandard materials and workmanship. An ICQA Consultant specialist organisation is required to deliver Independent Construction Quality Assurance. CQA engineers and inspectors must have either of the route A or route B qualifications described in the 'Landfill Operators: Environmental Permits' document published online by the Environment agency.
