Purpose of Notice - The procurement of a Subcontractor for the Vehicle Recovery Services works in connection with the A417 Missing Link at Air Balloon. Scheme Description - Under the National Highways Limited Regional Delivery Partnership (RDP), we are appointed as the Principal Contractor for the design and construction of a new dual carriageway at the A417 Missing Link at Air Balloon. The scheme would provide 3.4 miles (5.5km) of new, rural all-purpose dual carriageway for the A417. The new dual carriageway would connect the existing A417 Brockworth bypass with the existing dual carriageway A417 south of Cowley. Kier Transportation require a Subcontractor to undertake Geophysical Survey services. A geophysical survey is required to determine the bedrock profile and changes in physical properties of the materials to inform piling design in the central reservation. Boreholes in the area show a large discrepancy of levels over comparatively short distances. Non-intrusive testing is proposed to determine the rock levels where the physical GI was not undertaken. Note that works are undertaken on the M6 motorway in the Lune Gorge which is why the non-intrusive surveys are proposed. Frequency: Monthly - requirement for company awarded tender to attend site monthly to collect samples.
