Homes England is seeking to appoint a competent Supplier for advanced vegetation clearance services at South West Rugby Homestead Link Road. South West Rugby Homestead Link Road (HLR) is a critical infrastructure proposal that will unlock the wider allocated South West Rugby Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE). This includes approximately 5000 new homes, 35ha of employment land and supporting open green space, community and education uses. The advanced vegetation clearance and ecological mitigation services, comprise: removal of all trees and non-woody vegetation comprising tree felling, stump removal, and disposal of arisings of approximately 1.15ha of tree canopy cover comprising 47 individual trees, 16 tree groups and a small part of 1 woodland; removal of approximately 912 lin.m of hedgerow; soft-felling of a tree in accordance with Natural England licence; supply and install bat boxes; supply and install temporary bat hop-overs where linear features are being lost along flight lines; closure and destruction of several active and disused badger setts in accordance with the terms and conditions of Natural England licence; and supply and install a mixture of temporary fencing to secure boundaries which have been opened as a result of felling/clearance activities. The Services are proposed outside of the main works contract as they require specialised expertise or equipment that would otherwise not be covered by the main works and additionally to mitigate ecological constraints.
Homes England is seeking to appoint a competent Supplier to design and build a new sports and social facility at the former Whittingham Hospital site, Preston, PR3 2JE.
The scheme will see major redevelopment of the existing Whittingham and Goosnargh Sports and Social Club (WGSSC), once the staff club when the hospital was in use. Works will see delivery of new clubhouse, 11 a-side football pitch, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), caravan/camping area, car parking and associated ancillary landscaping. The established bowling green will be retained within the scheme.
The Works comprise but are not limited too the following:
• Phasing arrangements as outlined in the tender documents
• Ground improvement works for new clubhouse and kiosk building foundation
• Maintain existing services during the works and provision of all incoming services
• Structure for the new clubhouse and external terrace area including provision of a canopy
• Construction of retaining walls, stairs and provision of step free access (i.e. ramps)
• Installation of surface and foul drainage and connection to the surrounding drainage network
• External cladding and finishes and internal structures, finishes, fixtures and fittings
• Provision of mechanical and electrical services including PV panel installation
• Delivery of an 11 a-side grass football pitch and Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)
• Caravan and main car park construction including road markings and lighting
• External works including waste collection and elsan point construction, cycle parking facilities
• Provision of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging facility and pop-up electric sockets for caravan park
• Construction of new kiosk building, storage and away team shelter for bowling club

• Site clearance and disposal of items as specified
• Demolition of the existing clubhouse and remediation of the ground post demolition

To appoint a Traffic Marshall to the 2E Pegasus crossing to provide management of the interface between members of the public and site Construction Traffic to discharge the Agency duty of care.
Lea Castle is a former hospital site, split into core site and wider site. Leakage from former hospital laundry has resulted in PCE contamination of the groundwater within the underlying Principal Aquifer. Homes England are responsible for discharging the planning condition relating to contamination and are seeking a groundwater remediation contractor to remediate the groundwater to targets agreed with the Environment Agency.
