Request for Information - Glasgow Cathedral Lighting Design
Historic Environment Scotland (HES) is undertaking market research in relation to the delivery of a refurbishment of the electrical and lighting systems at Glasgow Cathedral. We want to hear from suppliers with a proven track record in the field of lighting design in order to provide us with a detailed understanding of the market and what it can offer. Due to the significance of Glasgow Cathedral, we require more than just functional illuminance; this lighting design must complement and enhance the aesthetic qualities of the building. The lighting designer will need to consider the requirements of the congregation, the experience of visitors to the site, all while ensuring that the lighting is energy-efficient and easy to maintain. Glasgow Cathedral is a site of global significance and one of the grandest properties on the HES estate, and we intend for its new lighting installation to compare favourably against those at similar locations around the world
