Background The house in Oaklands was left in the will of a local doctor in 1932. Over subsequent years the trustees have opened three rooms to incorporate a local history museum. One room (formally known as the John Button Room) has been cleared with the aim to set out to display a complete mix of items currently in store. Context The museum consists of three adjoining rooms within the mid - late Victorian period house. The museum adjoins the local library and Council offices. Room measurements: • Length 7.5 m (incl doors) • Width 4.1 m • Height 3 m The room is entered via the library foyer and two museum rooms. The room has two exit doors: one unused, the other leading to the Council offices and potentially disabled access. Two windows with central heating radiators beneath them are on the N and E external walls. Electrics: 3 double sockets on 2 walls (N and E), 1 double socket in centre of floor Lighting: Central hanging rail of spotlights Disabled access required as thoroughfare. Aim For the third room (previously known as the John Button Room) to be used to display the museum collection of artefacts linked to the history of the town, from c.1800 to the present day. Hythe Town Council is inviting applications to carry out significant tree felling works to remove trees affected by Ash Dieback disease in it's woodlands at Eaton Lands. Contractors will need to create suitable access points, remove trees, demonstrate best environmental practice and work in accordance with relevant forestry commission and conservation guidelines. Additionally a completed tender will need to evidence how contractors will ensure correct completion of works, clearance of the site and appropriate aftercare and upkeep. Scope of Works • Cleaning and Preparation o Clear/cut grass in the immediate area surrounding the surface (note: Harris fencing will be made available & placed by HTC) o Pressure wash, hand clear and/or chemically clean natural growth (moss, weeds, etc) as well as possible. o Jet wash of the surface to remove any remaining organic matter o Include a biocide treatment to the entire surface to kill any remaining moss spores • Surface Repair o Dig out all damaged or cracked surface areas in order to refill where repairs are needed to create a smooth surface. • Surface Coverage with PlastiRoute o Apply the full colour coverage using specialist super-durable paint from the PlastiRoute range. o Colours as noted in enclosed diagram (Appendix E) • Line Marking o All courts to be painted with white lines • Completion and Clearance o Remove equipment and all associated waste materials. o Final clearance of the site, leaving it clean and tidy upon completion.
