Haydon Wick Parish Council in North Swindon wishes to appoint a grounds maintenance contractor to conduct the autumn/winter schedule this year.
The required works described in this tender specification are expected to be executed by the Contractor in a manner that enhances the reputation of the Council for the maintenance of its open spaces. In general, what is required is the best horticultural / arboriculture practices to be implemented and the maintenance of rigorous standards of discipline, cleanliness, and tidiness. The quality of finish of the cut is currently of reasonable standard, and the Contractor will be expected to maintain, and where practical over the period of the contract, enhance the standard.

The Council is currently seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified contractor to reinstall the safety surface at the Village Green Play Area. The play area has one area of play bark loose fill surface. The existing bark loose fill surface area is being removed and a new rubber wet pour surface to be laid.
The Council is currently seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified contractor to install safety surfacing, fencing and play equipment at Trent Road Play Area.
The play area currently has five items of play equipment installed on a mixture of safety tiles and wet pour rubber. The area is contained within a steel bow top fence. The fence to the Western end of the play area, which contains double vehicle gates will be removed by the contractor and the new equipment will be in an area adjacent to the current area. The vehicle access gates will not be required within the new fence line. The new area will extend to such size that will accommodate the new equipment, fencing and safety surface available within the budget. The parish has 14 lengths of 1.9m x 95cm (base to top of bow) Red bow top fencing that it would like to use on the new area if feasible. This fencing is panels only.
The play area is situated in a residential area, and close to a main footpath, close to a local primary school. The play area must be suitable for all children aged from 3 years up to the age of 12 years. New equipment is to be as inclusive as possible.
The Council is currently seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified contractor to supply and install outdoor gym equipment and install the safety wet pour surface at White Eagle Road Play Area.
A consultation asking residents which equipment they would use most and what they would like to see was done throughout March 2025. The results of the consultation specifically relating to the outdoor gym can be found in the ITT. The findings are displayed and have been split into Strength Training and Cardio Training.
