Greater Manchester Clinical Assessment Service A clinical assessment service (CAS) is an intermediate service that allows for a greater level of clinical expertise in assessing a patient than would normally be expected of a referring clinician (such as a GP) (NHS Digital). The GM CAS is a well-established concept nationally and was successfully developed and tested within Greater Manchester (GM) in March 2019 to initially manage lower acuity 999 calls. The GM CAS delivers two distinct yet compatible elements of provision; low acuity category 3 & 4 calls and fulfils the national requirement to implement 111 First from December 2020, which includes the clinical assessment of patients and the subsequent streaming to a range of services with scheduled arrival times to ED when required. The Out-of-Hours Pharmacy Service ensures that patients requiring urgent treatment out-of-hours (at times and on days not provided for by the existing Community Pharmacy network) can obtain their prescription in a timely manner. The Out-of-Hours Pharmacy Service also ensures that the Borough has a stock holding of medication that may be required for outbreak management such as a flu or meningitis outbreak. The aim of the procurement is to is to provide a service across the Greater Manchester (GM) area that gives support to young people, from 0-17 years inclusive, seven days a week, who are in crisis e.g. experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts and evolving to self-defined crisis by the young person. The procurement is looking to develop daytime locality based services. This notice is to confirm the intention of NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board to award contracts under The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 Competitive Process. The expected lifetime value of this contract is £4,250,000. This is an existing service being awarded to new and existing providers.
