Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (referred to as GWH), installed a conveyor dispensing system within their Pharmacy department in 2022. The system now requires review and updating to ensure the integrity of the fire rating will be maintained when passing through a fire rated structure.
Anticipated scope of the Remediation Works required:
· Undertake an onsite inspection to enable the supplier to familiarise themselves with the site, building and installations.
· Undertake a review of all existing information relating to the conveyor system and the existing fire strategy.
· Attend workshops and meetings as required to support, progress and develop a technical design (drawings, specifications). This will also include engagement with the manufacturer of the conveyor system. The anticipated number of meetings required to be proposed and agreed.
· Act as Principal Designer under the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) on behalf of GWH and submit and manage the application through the various gateways until successful conclusion.
The Project Team has approached a number of potential suppliers, however only one organisation has been identified as having the relevant technical expertise, resource and capacity to deliver the project within the required timescales. GWH observed an 8-day standstill following the publishing of a UK05: Transparency Notice (Reference UK-4539) before entering into a contract with Kendall Kingscott Limited.
Therefore, after full consideration of the technical and resource restrictions and submission of the relevant Notice, GWH awarded this contract to Kendall Kingscott Limited.
