Gas Networks Ireland plans to reduce corporate carbon emissions to 50% of their carbon emissions level in 2010. Decarbonisation of the SWSOS Compressor Stations aims to assist with this decarbonisation target.
The scope of this requirement is for the Delivery of the Design, Construction, Procurement, Installation and commissioning of Electric Drive Motor (EMD) Gas Compressors and ancillary equipment with associated lifecycle maintenance, located at GNI(UK) Compressor Stations at Beattock and Brighouse Bay (Kirkcudbright), in southwest Scotland. The scope includes but is not limited to:
• Site surveys required to inform requirements for material procurement.
• Preliminary and Detailed Design, Construction, procurement, Installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning incl. FAT and SAT, supply of O&M manual, technical and material record documentation, asset information data sheets.
• Engagement with Electrical power provider regarding Electrical infrastructure requirements.
• Siting and Construction of Compressors Hall(s)
• Sizing Optimal Electric Drive Motor(s) (EMD), Compressor(s) and ancillaries based on Capacity Assessments.
o Electric driver;
o Core compressor
o Compatibility with future Hydrogen blends.
o Lube oil system for core compressor, lube oil system and main driver; (if applicable)
o Seal gas system; (if applicable)
o Frequency converter input transformer;
o Frequency converter system;
o Water cooling system for Variable Speed Drive (VSD) system; and
• Integration of the unit control system(s) into the existing station control system (including the Fire and Gas system(s)).
• Integration of all piping and instrumentation required for proper unit operation
• Maintenance services which include but not limited to for this requirement are as follows;
o Preventative/Scheduled Maintenance Services (including management service) - inspections, inspection kits, provision of service personnel and repairs.
o Corrective Maintenance Services - provision of service personnel and repairs.
o Spares/parts.
• Staff training for operation and maintenance purposes.
The Qualification System may cover all aspects of the Design and/or Construction of High Pressure Gas Transportation Infrastructure Services.
The proposed duration of this Qualification System is eight years, commencing in Q2 2023 and ending Q1 2031.

Stage 1 - Request for Expressions of Interest and Information.
This stage is the initial market sounding stage. Gas Networks Ireland are now inviting responses from interested parties who wish to have the opportunity to outline their areas of expertise for the provision of Design and/or Construction of High Pressure Gas Transportation Infrastructure Services.
Stage 2 - Engagement
Following a review of submissions, Gas Networks Ireland may invite individual selected respondents to attend sessions where Gas Networks Ireland will define further its requirement and discuss the respondent's submission.

- 18/044 - Specialised Construction Services This Qualification System will be designed to allow for the assembly of a
multi-supplier Specialised Construction Services Qualification System with competent entities with capabilities in one
or more of the 7 lots. For each of the 7 lots in scope, each Qualified Applicant will be required to have the competence
to carry out the relevant services within or in the vicinity of a live gas environment, including within hazardous or
potentially hazardous areas (ATEX zones 0 to 3). The Specialised Construction Services Qualification System will be
used to supervise works on the gas transmission (Tx) and distribution (Dx) networks owned and/or operated by Gas
Networks Ireland and its subsidiary GNI (UK) Ltd in Ireland, Northern Ireland and in Scotland as the case may be. Lot
1- Site Supervision General Pipeline Engineering (Tx). Lot 2 - Mechanical Supervision (incl Welding Inspection and
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)) (Tx). Lot 3 - Painting/Coating Inspection (New Build and Maintenance) (Tx). Lot 4 -
Site Supervision Civils - Excavation, Backfill and Reinstatement (Tx and Dx). Lot 5 - Site Supervision (Dx).

Gas Networks Ireland is interested in receiving proposals from interested parties that wish to develop hydrogen production on the 22 hectare site at the Inch Terminal and on the 2.1 hectare site at the Midleton compressor station which could support the development of the Celtic hydrogen cluster and in the demonstration of the transport of hydrogen in repurposed natural gas pipelines.
