Gentoo Group Ltd have approximately 5,600 Solar PV installations across its stock of 28,000 properties (please note that 2,926 of these are owned by Peterborough Council therefore, will not form scope of this Contract). These installations are all confined to the areas of Sunderland, Houghton, Hetton and Washington - Tyne and Wear. In addition to domestic installations, Gentoo Group also has three commercially installed Solar PV Systems, located at Emperor House and Akeler House - Doxford Park, Sunderland and at the Skyline Centre - Houghton-le-Spring. The purpose of this Tender is to procure a sole Provider to provide varying maintenance, cleaning, and protection systems to those installations for the next four years. This Contract is made up of five key elements. Part 1 - Maintenance Services to Solar PV Systems; and Part 2 - Cyclical Cleaning Services to Solar PV Systems. Part 3 - Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) Inspections Part 4 - Mechanical Inspections Part 5 - Solar Thermal Panel Replacement (to PV Panels) (should instances arise). Please note that the appointed sole Provider must be able to undertake all five elements listed above.

The Group employ a variety of roles which are impacted by the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Building Regulations 2010. This includes Building Surveyors and Project Managers overseeing survey and refurbishment work in the Group's social housing stock. This stock includes 25 high-rise residential buildings where the Group are the Principal Accountable Person. The Group appoint external Principal Contractors and Principal Designers to carry out this work, however, retain all client responsibilities for the work. The Group require a competent person to deliver training to nominated colleagues to provide an overview of the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 (the Act) and the changes to Building Regulations introduced by the Act. The training must include at least the following: • An overview of the requirements of the Act, including the requirements specified under part four of the Act aimed at those managing occupied high-rise residential buildings and the Principal Accountable Person. • An overview of the role of the Building Safey Regulator. • Changes to the building regulations introduced by the Act for work in all buildings. • Changes to the building regulations introduced by the Act for work in high-rise residential buildings. • How the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer duty holder roles differ under the Act from those required under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, including the requirements to report mandatory occurrences. • How clients can assess the competency of the duty holders required under the Act. • The changes to building control approval for work in occupied high-rise residential buildings, with specific examples of the types of work where building control approval would be required and where it wouldn't. • How the building regulations will be enforced. • How the golden thread of information should be maintained and updated throughout the lifecycle of the building and during refurbishment works in occupied high-rise residential buildings. Gentoo Group is a Registered Social Landlord that has approximately 28,000 properties located within the boundaries of Sunderland, Houghton, Hetton and Washington - Tyne & Wear. A number of these properties have Photovoltaic (PV) systems installed to their roofs. The purpose of this engagement is to seek a Contractor to provide responsive maintenance services to approximately 2,300 PV systems. This is identified as a key deliverable service for Gentoo to ensure that all PV systems remain fully operational and its Tenants can receive the benefits of these systems. Therefore, there will be a requirement to meet service level agreements/key performance indicators to comply with the contract requirements.
