Forestry England are going out to tender for work to help grow their Individual Giving income stream. The proposed work will include; writing an Individual Giving strategy, product development (both proposition and creative) and writing a case for support. Lastly, Forestry England are looking for ongoing consultancy support to help with future strategic and creative work whilst the Individual Giving strategy is being delivered.

The Forestry Commission have a future requirement for the analysis of the direct and indirect impacts of development on ancient woodland (i.e. where and how). This includes the identification and recommendation of appropriate mitigation measures to assist local planning authorities in ensuring proportionate consideration in plan preparation, as well as spatial analysis and digital mapping.

Forestry England are looking to award a concession contract for the delivery of Forest Runner, a series of 5k and 10k running events at their forest centres. The contractor would take the operational and marketing lead in providing the event series and be able to deliver the running events at a number of forests across England. Forestry England are looking to work with an experienced and established delivery partner who understands the organisation’s values and aims. Forestry England has a future opportunity for the operation of the catering concession leases at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Jeskyns Community Woodland, and Hole Farm Community Woodland. We anticipate that the leases will be for a period of up to 10 years. A full copy of the draft leases will be available in the tender documents to be published Summer 2023. The total value of the lease opportunities over the term will be in the region of: - £10million - Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest - £1.5million - Jeskyns Community Woodland - £1million - Hole Farm Community Woodland The leases will start: - January 2024 - Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest - April 2024 - Jeskyns Community Woodland - October 2024 - Hole Farm Community Woodland (provisional date subject to planning permissions and infrastructure build completion).

We are looking to develop a framework for our everyday design works at Westonbirt Arboretum. This would likely be for an initial two years, with the option to extend for a further two years. At present we envisage potentially multiple lots covering different design work ‘types’. The potential lots we have identified to date include the following: - Specialist digital design including animation and film - Design and production of print materials including illustration e.g. leaflets, banners, interpretative panels - Design and build projects for more complex onsite projects (where the designer will need fabrication expertise, including experience of fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer role as specified under Construction Design and Management Regulations_

The total value of the Bedgebury Cycle Hire lease opportunity will be in the region of £5m - £7m. The total value of the High Lodge Cycle Hire lease opportunity will be in the region of £2m. Forestry England has a future Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) under which to place contracts for the erection and maintenance of forest fencing on new woodland creation sites throughout England. The types of fencing required include, but are not limited to: permanent deer fencing, stock-proof fencing, rabbit-proof fencing, forest gates/barriers/water gates. This DPS will allow Forestry England to hold mini-competitions for work as and when required. We intend for the DPS to be live for 10 years (September 2022 - September 2032). Forestry England have a future requirement for a Hedge Flailing and Ride Side Management Framework in the West England Forest District. This will required suppliers to conduct side arm flailing of internal / external hedges and rides across the District beats. It is likely that this requirement will be divided into geographical Lots.

Forestry England is seeking expressions of interest from potential operators that are interested in bidding for the opportunity to manage a café, bike retail shop and bike repair workshop in the Forest of Dean. In addition, Forestry England is also seeking expressions of interest from potential operators that are interested in bidding for the opportunity to provided a mountain bike uplift service on the same site. Potential bidders will have the option to bid for each opportunity individually or together.

Forestry England has a future opportunity for the operation of the Haldon Forest Park Cafe concession lease. Haldon Forest Park, near Exeter, is one of the south-west’s most popular countryside visitor destinations and it is currently undergoing a period of re-development for completion in 2024. We want to develop partnerships with businesses so that we work together to enable visitors to appreciate our superb forest and understand more about how we manage it sustainably. Haldon Forest Park is one of the nation's Forests' and is managed by Forestry England. The woodland hosts a network of walking and cycling, running and Nordic Walking trails, Go Ape, Segway, car park, picnic areas, play areas and public toilets. There are about 500,000 day visits per year currently. Our intention is to award a lease agreement for the newly built café on the site which will consist of the following elements: - Café and events catering - Opportunity for ‘pop-up’ mobile trailer on site for drinks & snacks We anticipate that the lease will be for a period of up to 8 years. A full copy of the draft lease will be available in the tender documents to be published late Spring/early Summer 2023. The total value of this lease opportunity for the initial 5 years will be in the region of £4M. The current aim is for the cafe to open on 1st May 2024. We are keen to ensure that the cafe specification accurately reflects the offerings of the market. The Forestry Commission have a future requirement for the provision of lease vehicles across the England, including cover cars, LCVs, vans up to 3500kgs, 4x4 pickups and commercial pickups up to 3500kg, as well as CAPES vehicles. There is also potential requirement for bespoke vehicles under this framework such as modified 4x4 pickups for wildlife management.

Forestry England have an upcoming tender requirement for tree safety services in the East England Forest District. The framework will covered the safe removal of dangerous trees from roadside, property boundaries and public areas, including the provision of emergency tree safety works and specialist ash die-back management services.

The Forestry Commission have an upcoming consultancy requirement for the development of a guide to trees and woodlands as nature based solutions, that will collate examples, produce cost benefit analysis where possible and identify how they can advantage development projects. The resulting guide will be for a wide audience including local authority planners, developers, local nature recovery strategy (LNRS) Responsible Authorities, Utility providers etc.

Forestry England is seeking expressions of interest from operators wishing to provide a wedding and events space in Wyre Forest, Kidderminster. Wyre forest near Bewdley, attracts in the region of 300,000 visits annually, there are a variety of waymarked walking, running and horse trails. Following consideration of the initial expressions of interest, Forestry England may wish to engage in further soft market testing with respondents. Therefore, at this stage the scope of the lease and lease duration is still subject to change based on feedback from the market.
