In order to further meet the need and build on evidence gathered from 2021/22 Education Scotland are looking for a Service Provider to develop a programme for 225 wellbeing leaders of learning using a model of supervision spaces to further support the mental health and wellbeing of the education workforce with the following:
- Supervision spaces for taking care of yourself
- Learning through using Education Scotland health and wellbeing resources as well as other appropriate tools
The service will provide identified groups of the education workforce the following 2 offers:
- Up to 6 hours of professional 1:1 coaching with professional coaches
- 3 hours of group coaching
The focus will be to support the wellbeing of the practitioners as they manage the challenges and identify opportunities in their context (e.g. Schools, Community Learning and Development, Probationer supporters, Early Learning and Childcare, Local Authority staff who support school staff) and support the children and young people in their care.

- Supervision spaces for taking care of yourself and those you lead
- The provider with support from the ES strategic lead for workforce support, A will work with leaders across Local Authorities to increase engagement and participation of the workforce and to develop more sustainable, local and strategic approach approaches to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the workforce. This will involve linking with:
- Local Authority leads with responsibility for health and wellbeing
- ES Regional Improvement Teams
- Regional Improvement Collaboratives
- This will be coordinated in collaboration with Education Scotland.
The Service Provider will:
1. Manage an online professional learning platform and programme for 1500 learners which will build capacity for participants across the wider education workforce to develop skills to facilitate coaching conversations.
2. Manage a support and supervision programme of regular monthly online connecting with experts sessions for learners on the programme who are engaging in ongoing peer to peer conversations.
3. Provide and facilitate 1:1 peer to peer coaching matching service which is a mandatory part of the online learning programme.
4. Build awareness and understanding of the programme with:
-CLPL (Career Long Professional leads) leads in both RICs (Regional Improvement Collaboratives) and Local Authorities with the view to building a sustainable approach for participants beyond this level of PLL so linking to local opportunities for further development in coaching.
-Support development officer in building an awareness of the programme across ES to build sustainability
