This new facility will provide essential diagnostic services, including but not limited to: MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Phlebotomy and others, which are crucial for the early diagnosis of complex health issues. By refurbishing the property to suit these services, the NHS aims to reduce clinical waiting times and lessen the strain on existing healthcare services. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS foundation Trust includes, but is not limited to, the creation of new sensory garden in Children’s ward and refurbishment of outpatients courtyard. There are minimal works to ground finish in the courtyards and then the construction of the new design issued by the Client. There are various notes on the tender drawings to assist in what works are required by the Trust/Client. In all instances the currently issued and clarified responses through the tendering portal and associated issued tender documentation and designs are to be relied upon as the current version as provided by the appointed design team on behalf of ESNEFT. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is inviting qualified contractors to participate in a tender exercise for a Measured Term Contract (MTC) for Building, Mechanical, and Electrical services. This contract will encompass a range of works and maintenance services across our facilities, ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of our healthcare environments. Contractors with proven expertise in these areas are encouraged to submit their responses to the questions outlined within this document, demonstrating their capability to deliver effective services in line with ESNEFT's standards. The selected contractor will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of ESNEFT's infrastructure, contributing to the Trust's commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services to the community. Scope of Contract: All ESNEFT sites including Ipswich and Colchester Hospitals and all community sites. Clacton, Harwich, Aldeburgh, Felixstowe and other smaller locations. This portfolio of buildings / establishments may be amended during the life of this contract. Scope of service provision: • Building maintenance (to supplement existing internal teams as required) • Building services including electrical and mechanical installations and upgrades. • Estates maintenance & capital minor works • New build and refurbishment / alterations • Deliver a significant programme of planned and backlog maintenance It is possible that new clinical imperatives will arise during the contract that could significantly add to the above categories of work. In this instance ESNEFT will discuss / consult with the successful tenderer. This contractual arrangement will enable the Trust to react to fast moving client requirements in a timely fashion. The Trust has a dedicated innovation team who are responsible for supporting staff with the successful implementation of new ideas, which lead to improved health outcomes, increased efficiency and/or financial benefit. The ESNEFT innovation team offers a range of services to support with the development of innovation from concept through to implementation and works with the following: • teams and departments • individuals • deliver Trust-wide innovation. The Trust would like to invite quotes for innovation management services, to support healthcare innovators throughout the product development journey, from concept through to implementation. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is inviting qualified contractors to participate in a tender exercise for; the refurbishment and alterations to existing ancillary areas to create a new Gymnasium for Stroke Patients including associated alterations to existing Mechanical and Electrical services and drainage work. The following provides a high-level overview of the proposed scope of works under this contract: • Demolition & Strip-Out: Careful removal of existing partitions, finishes, fixtures, and redundant M&E services, including infilling of selected door openings. • Structural modifications: Formation of new blockwork walls, partitions, and structural openings to create new gymnasium with administrative space and assessment kitchen. • Fire Protection: Installation of new fire-rated linings, doors, and service penetrations to achieve compliant fire compartmentation to hazard rooms and protected zones. • Mechanical Services: Provision of a new HTM03-01 compliant AHU to roof top plant deck with associated ductwork and ventilation to serve the newly formed areas, ductwork routing externally and entering ground floor to supply and extract air for the new gymnasium • Forming drainage runs from new WC and basins tying back to manhole located in internal courtyard, by thrust boring under main hospital corridor • Site Management: Works to be undertaken within a live hospital environment with full compliance to infection control standards, site access restrictions, and Trust policies and procedures. Contractors with demonstrable experience in delivering these works are invited to respond to the questions set out in this document, evidencing their ability to provide services in accordance with ESNEFT’s standards. The appointed contractor will support the delivery of safe and effective operational improvements at Ipswich Hospital, contributing to the Trust’s ongoing commitment to high-quality patient care and enabling a timely response to evolving service requirements. The Contractor through the evidence provided in their response will assist the Trust in providing some assurance they would be appointing a contractor who is competent and compliant for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022. Capability Assessment with questions and pass/fail criteria will be published and need to be returned by 30th January 2026 (estimated) @ 12pm, the trust will then evaluate and whittle suppliers down to a maximum of 5 suppliers we wish to invite to the formal tender stage.
