The aim of the project is to produce an update of the 2015 Exmouth Beach Management Plan (BMP), with consideration of the wider sediment system within which the BMP area is situated and in line with good practice as set out in the CIRIA Beach Management Manual second edition (CIRIA, 2010). This will ensure that the Exmouth BMP continues to be a key document guiding the management of coastal flood and erosion risk along the Exmouth frontage by ensuring that an adequate beach is maintained in support of the hard defence/control structures, alongside adequate maintenance of the hard defence structures themselves to ensure they remain in good to fair condition. Exmouth Tennis Centre re-roofing and associated works 2024

East Devon District Council (EDDC) is commissioning a provider to deliver a programme of decarbonisation training and support for businesses and community organisations until March 2025. Support will be delivered which includes on-site carbon surveys, tailor-made carbon action plans, one-to-one support coordination, in-person and online workshops for businesses and community organisations in East Devon.\r \r An indicative sum of £207,000 has been allocated to this provision which includes support development costs and those associated with marketing to ensure sufficient support take up. £107,000 has been allocated for businesses and £100,000 has been allocated for community organisations.\r \r This programme is funded until March 2025 and so it is important that the Supplier appointed to this programme is able to mobilise quickly to ensure that support commences soon so there is as much time as possible to achieve the necessary outputs.\r \r The duration of this contract is for an initial 12 months with the option to extend until 31st December 2025 at the discretion of the Authority. Replacement lighting

The purpose of the Tree Strategy for East Devon DC will be to ensure there is both continuity and synergy with the Devon Tree & Woodland Strategy 2024. The Devon Strategy provides the county-wide framework for how we can look to increase our tree and woodland cover as well as linking with Local Nature Recovery work, Climate Change adaptation and mitigation targets and also how we engage all our partners, communities and organisations in helping to ensure we manage our treescapes and woodlands. An ambition of this Tree Strategy will be to look to set an achievable target for planting trees over the ten year period of the plan which links directly to our Climate Change Strategy and also with the planned Local Nature Recovery Plan for East Devon. In doing so we will aim to increase the number of trees unavoidably lost with the caveat of the unknown quantity of trees which may be lost to ash dieback. The trees that are planted will see the district's tree canopy cover significantly increase by the time they are fully grown. We will look to adopt the principle of "the right tree for the right place" in order to ensure the most resilient tree population possible. We will look to undertake a canopy survey of the trees within East Devon's towns so that we can better understand our tree cover. The canopy survey, including our existing TPO database, council owned tree inventory (Ezytreev) and tree planting initiatives across East Devon (EDDC, developers* etc) should be available for our residents to access on the Council's website. We will work constructively with Town & Parish Councils, communities and environmental groups to deliver these ambitions and capture this sentiment within the` Vision statement' for the Strategy

Contract documents available from 2nd September. Works to be complete by end of February 2025. Works to start on site ASAP to make use of better working conditions. Phase 1 completed in July 2024 . Phase 2 target start date 7th October 2024. Works involved installation of 150m linear length Anchored sheet pile wall with deviation around concession buildings. Sheet pile lengths between 9.5-10 metres. Rock anchors on every In-pan length of anchors 18m. Phase 2 is 3 types of pile design, for the remaining length of wall around 2 standing concessions, and one area where the concession has been removed. They will tie into Phase 1 works to the East, and a slipway to the west. The area will need to be made good post works, and handrailing installed. A set of steps is also proposed. We are proposing Tied, cantilever and anchored designs, all using the same pile section (of which 43 piles are to be supplied by the client (on site))
