City of Ely Council - The Installation of a Retractable Seating System at The Maltings, Ely.
City of Ely Council (The Authority) have been responsible for The Maltings for the past 6 years, it is primarily a venue to hire. There is the main hall with a stage, plus bar area and a separate meeting room on the first floor. The venue holds weddings, discos, conferences, performances, pantomimes etc.
The Authority requires the installation of a new retractable seating system to replace the existing system which is aging and increasingly expensive to maintain. There is a fixed window for the installation of the retractable seating system at The Maltings of Monday 5th September to 24th September 2022.
This is a further competition using the Crown Commercial Service RM6119 Furniture & Associated Services Framework Lot 4: Bespoke/Fitted Furniture.
Oliver Cromwell's House is a listed Grade 2* building. The proposed works are to replace a cill beam at first floor level on the front elevation with associated repairs to the adjoining studs and floor joists. This includes the removal of the ceiling from the front ground floor room currently used as the tourist information centre to allow for woodwork treatment. This is specialist work due to the nature of the building.
Replacement of two gas boilers and associated works at the Maltings, Ely. These need urgent replacement due to the failure and instability of the very old boilers.
